Chapter Six: Meet The Crew

"I will at least kill one of you before going down!!" The man yelled out as he got closer to them.

His grip on the knife tightened as he thrust it through the air, aiming at the girl.

'No matter how fast he is, he can not counter me. So the least, he will try to jump in front of the knife in other to protect her,' the man thought within.

Just as he predicted, Ash got in front of the knife while trying to protect the girl but...

"Ahhh," the man grunted hard as he got slammed to the ground by several police officers.

"What the" the man questioned.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot to tell you that I already called the cops before getting to this alley," Ash explained.

"It's not right for several men to chase after a young girl, so I called the cops as I trailed you guys here,"

"Thank you, we will handle it from here," one of the officers bowed as he gave the order to round up the criminals.

Soon, Ash and the girl walked out of the alley unscratched.

Three weeks had passed since the incident and Ash had managed to gather more resources and supplies.

He also succeeded in gathering able men for jobs that require heavy lifting.

His only objective now was to make contact with his younger brother, which his foster parents kept denying him access.

The sound of footsteps ringing in the hall was audible from the large room in which a few people sat there.

They sat quietly, waiting for something to happen or for someone to come up to them.

They were both male and female, they had different sizes, heights, and appearances.

Ash walked alone through the dark and long hallway. His left hand was tucked into his pocket while his right hand styled his shoulder-length hair.

He soon got to the room where they were.

As soon as Ash walked into the main room, all eyes, both closed and opened, shifted to him.

He glanced at them respectively, taking note of whatever he could.

'Jared, the boy who later became a leader of a large group of skilled individuals during the apocalypse.'

'I chose him to become part of my alliance because his skills and sense of leadership are extraordinary,' he remarked as he glanced at the boy farthest from him.

'Sinon, during the apocalypse, she was hired by several guilds for protection because of the power she and her squad possessed.'

'Gareth and David, the only known twins to survive the apocalypse and became formidable entities in just a month.' Ash thought within himself as he gazed at them.

'Then there's the one people call Diva. She's a lady of few words but the most deadly and will encounter. The rumors of her laying waste to half the population of zombies spread throughout the world.'

'And closest to me is Rika, her full name is Jerrika, the girl I saved from those men the other day.'

'They are all the best in their fields. All I need now is to play my cards right and they will be under my command.'

"Thank you all for coming," Ash greeted as he proceeded to sit in the empty chair in front of them.

"I called all of you out here from your busy schedule because I'll be needing your help,"

"This of it as an offer to get rich," Ash added with a bright smile.

"You see, something is coming, something dangerous is about to hit us, and the world almost doesn't know about it,"

"What is this thing?" Gareth asked with an anxious look.

"I can't fully explain to you what it is, because even I don't know about it,"

"Then how do you know it's coming?" He asked again.

"Because it is," Ash sent out a sharp stare at him.

He had already thought of the possible questions he would have been asked and the best answer to explain everything was to tell them he was from the future.

However, believing would have been the issue. He also thought of contacting them anonymously but he wanted a bond made of trust.

But creating that would prove futile because he had no solid proof of what he was saying.

"What exactly do you need our help for?" Diva asked.

"Six days from now, it will start," he answered. "When it does, it will take a few days before everyone adjust,"

"After that, I want all of you here,"

"And who are you to give us orders?" Jared asked as the thought of being bossed around by someone younger, started to Infuriate him.

"You can decide to be your boss," Ash answered.

"But trust me when I say, you won't survive long being alone," Ash's smile soon disappeared as his eyes narrowed into a gaze.

“It has been sent sir,” a voice spoke through the wireless piece in his ear, making him smirk a little.

"I've sent something to all of you, and I hope it will be enough to pique your interest,"

"Who-" Jared panicked at the amount written on the screen of his cellphone.

"How did you?"

"Is this real?"

The same reaction can be seen on Rika's and a few others' faces.

"I can't accept this," Rika voiced out suddenly.

"What do you mean?" Ash asked.

"Isn't this a bit too much?" She asked out to the others who were still surprised.

"It doesn't matter, just do whatever you want to do with it,"

Seeing their surprised expression, Ash stood up and took several steps toward the hallway before stopping.

"If at any point, you suddenly lose interest, or for a second you think of running away, or better still, you decide to go off the radar," he gazed at them sharply.

"I will find you, and when I do, you will consider death merciful," he cast a cold look, before walking away.

"At the very least, they're not foolish enough to do so. I just hope they come back when it starts,"

"There are two other people I couldn't reach regardless of how hard I tried to find them,"

"But I'm not worried, they'll make contact once the apocalypse has begun," Ash whispered to himself as he fade away into the dark hallway.

Ash walked into the house his foster parents lived in and as soon as he did...

"Where have you been," Mary asked as she sat patiently, waiting for him.

"Umm... A friend's place," he replied as her sudden appearance startled him.

"Lately, you've been using that term to answer all my questions," she said as she stood up.

"Umm... B-but it's the truth," Ash stuttered in his words.

"It's ok, I believe you. You probably need time to recover and all," she held him by the shoulders.

"Which is why, we have decided to grant you permission," she added as a young boy stepped into the room with his foster father, John.

Seeing the boy, Ash's eyes widened in disbelief.

"Ash, meet your younger brother,"
