Chapter 98

Myla’s POV

Myla strolled down the lonely hallway, staring ahead of him. As he walked, he could hear the sound of his footfalls, which were louder than they should have been.

It sent a sense of dread to his being but he continued down the lonely path. The hallway was dimly lit and he was grateful that at least it wasn’t dark.

When he got to the door, he stopped and looked at his watch and realized it was after midnight, and he should have been in bed by now, especially since his father was traveling into the nation that morning.

He had been pulled out of bed by his cousin Reagan who wanted to know how things were going. Besides, nighttime was the only time he had to come check on them.

He sighed and slid the door open, entering the dimly lit room. One thing that always told him that someone was actually in the room was the sound of the monitors. He noticed the figure standing beside the bed and approached them.

He nodded at the man before shifting his gaze to the individual lying down
