Edward finished speaking and cast a lingering gaze at Mr. and Mrs. Sherwood while glancing at Jasper. Then, he turned around, ready to leave. The crowd now looked at him with pity, although many remained skeptical and intended to protect the Sherwood family.

"Yes, thank you," Edward replied. He then got into the car and drove away.
