“Despicable scoundrel.” Mrs. Marget couldn’t hold back her sharp words. She remembered how Mr. Morgan had been as meek as a dog when he needed money and help from her family. But now that she needed some help, she found excuses to avoid it. If she had known this earlier, she wouldn’t have helped this wretch. It was a waste of her trust.
