Chapter 33: Misfortunes

Leo's eyes blazed with anger. "It's all over," he declared. "The resorts have cut ties with us. Everything I've built is destroyed."

Andrea's heart dropped. She had seen firsthand the effort Leo had put into his vineyards, the things he had given up. The news was crushing.

"Oh, Leo," she murmured, her voice shaking.

"I can't comprehend,"Leo went on, his voice getting louder. "Our wines are unrivaled in the area. How could they do this to us?"

Andrea tried to soothe him, embracing his waist. "I know it's tough to accept," she said, "but there must be a cause. Let's work this out together."

Leo shook his head vigorously. "There's no explanation. It's a plot against us. They're out to ruin me."

"Leo, please,"Andrea begged, "don't let your rage take over. We have to stay level-headed."

But Leo was too engulfed in his feelings to hear her. He pushed Andrea away and stormed inside, leaving her alone in the driveway, a mix of sadness and concern washing over her.
