Jayden had not realized that he had been smiling. He was just getting busy with sorting out the files Fiona had given him, when his phone beeped.

He did not want to check, but he was curious to know what the notification was about. It could have been a business notification, or something related.

Though he had forgotten that he had asked her to send him the PDF of it, he did not think she would add an apology message.

Even if she were to add one, he had expected it to be a formal one. What she sent seemed to be written in a semiformal way.

He imagined her cute face, and tiny voice, mouthing, "don't be mad at me, please".

He could imagine her saying it. It was ringing in his head. The way the message was written, and the way he read it, it was all in her voice.

As a result of this, his lips twitched into a curvy smile. He found it adorable and cute, to hear her apologize.

Other of his employees had apologized to him, but none seemed to be as close and genuine as Carina's.
