Chapter 39: Greeting

“SAPPHIRE,” Harvey mumbled, gritting his teeth in annoyance as he snapped his neck, trying to calm himself down.

It was Sapphire Remington who dared to interrupt him from hurting August, and also the one who threw the dagger to stab his right-hand man. He closed his eyes for a while and did three deep breaths before he looked at Sapphire.

Sapphire, on the other hand, felt the opposite of annoyance— enjoyment. Her eyes flickered between Harvey and Mateo, and a wicked smile appeared on her lips as she noticed how Mateo flinched in pain because of what she did.

“Why are you here?” Harvey asked.

Still, annoyance was evident in his voice.

“Uh, because this is my house?” Sapphire answered sarcastically as a smirk escaped from her lips. Both her hands were crossed onto her chest as she raised a brow. “And I was just looking for a place where I could rest. I didn’t even know that something was going on here.”

Of course, it was a lie.

And of course, Harvey wasn’t stupid to know it.
