Marcus, who had been silently fuming in his seat, sat up straighter, his gaze scanning the room like a hawk. His intense anger was palpable; he was ready to confront whoever dared to smash his ego so publicly. He couldn't bear the idea of someone surpassing him.

But after a moment, no one stepped forward. Mrs. Thompson waited, her gaze sweeping the room once again. After a tense pause, she sighed softly and said, “It seems the person is not here with us today.”

Marcus, still looking around suspiciously, slowly began to relax, a smirk forming on his lips as satisfaction washed over him.

He leaned back in his chair and muttered, “Good. Let’s keep it that way. Guess they’re too scared to show up and face me after breaking my record like that.”

The twins, ever eager to support him, immediately chimed in.

“Exactly, Marcus. They know better. Nobody can stand up to you, really.”

“Yeah, you’re still the king around here.”

Marcus grinned, feeling vindicated by their sycophantic flattery.
