CHAPTER 8.
UGLY??
There were onlookers, and students began pulling out their phones to capture the moment. However, in Campbell campus, there seemed to be a prevailing hypocrisy among them. They would eagerly record the most dramatic moments solely for the sake of gaining social media attention, even if it meant capturing someone's suffering or even their last breath.
Amidst the commotion, Olivia couldn't help but giggle. She felt a sense of satisfaction knowing that Robert would be expelled from the cinema.
Owen, on the other hand, stumbled back in shame. He didn't fully comprehend Robert's actions, but the forceful punch had left him disoriented. He blinked rapidly, trying to regain his focus.
As Owen lifted his head, gasps reverberated through the crowd. Even Olivia, who was eagerly waiting for the manager to arrive, was taken aback by the collective surprise. It appeared that there was no manager coming to address the situation.
Most students immediately aimed their cameras at Owen's face when they noticed a smudge on his makeup.
Olivia shouted once again, her frustration evident. "Hey, where the hell is your manager?" This time, she pointed directly at the cinema attendant.
"If you don't have a manager here, then call your security!" she exclaimed, her tone filled with irritation.
The attendant approached Olivia with a calm and polite tone. "How can we assist you, ma'am?" she asked.
Olivia scoffed in disbelief. "Have you been deaf this whole time while I've been shouting? Don't be ridiculous. Go inside and find your manager for me!"
Olivia looked at the attendant, surprised to see her standing still, her gaze fixed on the crowd. Olivia's eyes widened slightly. Had the attendant just ignored her and her complaints? It seemed absurd, considering Olivia's VIP status as one of the most popular students. Or perhaps it was because of how rudely Olivia had spoken to her?
Olivia's head spun with questions as the attendant continued to stand there, straining her eyes to observe the scene where Owen and Robert were engaged.
Meanwhile, Owen had regained his composure and looked at the onlookers, whose cameras were now focused on him.
Initially, being filmed by students was nothing new to Owen. He was somewhat of a celebrity at Campbell. However, something felt different this time.
"Fuck! Owen is so fucking ugly!" the first comment flew over his head, causing him to gulp and feel the impact of the hurtful words.
"Ugly?" he thought to himself, taken aback. Throughout the past few hours, nobody had made such comments. What had changed?
His shock deepened as another person remarked, "Damn! He wears more makeup than women!"
A realization hit him like a tidal wave. It dawned on him that his makeup had become smudged, and he hadn't noticed it in time. Unbeknownst to him, this entire situation brought a soft smile and amusement to Robert, who stood nearby, finding pleasure in seeing Owen being negatively portrayed, just as Owen had done to him. Owen had made sure to upload videos of Olivia rejecting Robert on school websites and academic groups. This was Robert's way of serving Owen a taste of his own medicine.
Owen raised his eyebrows at Robert, and anger began to boil within him as he saw Robert's broad smile. It was clear that Robert was behind all of this. Owen muttered through gritted teeth, "This is really his doing."
Uncertain of his next move, Owen knew that physically confronting Robert would be very useless, Robert was like a solid rock, capable of inflicting serious harm on his face! Sending his thugs to handle Robert was also out of the question, as they were nowhere to be found in this critical moment. Owen was left feeling utterly alone and unsure of how to proceed.
Shit! Owen clenched and unclenched his fists in anger. It was too late to hide now. Numerous students had captured photos and videos of his smudged makeup, and he was now being referred to as "Ugly Owen." Robert's pettiness knew no bounds.
Everything he had tried to conceal throughout his life, all his insecurities, were now exposed for the entire school to see. Anger boiled within him as he pondered his next move. Just then, Olivia noticed a petite lady approaching the crowd.
When Olivia failed to get the lady's attention, she walked up to her, determined. "Hey, I'm talking to you," Olivia twitched her arms, trying to grab the lady's attention. Reluctantly, the lady raised her eyes, devoid of any emotions, to meet Olivia's gaze.
For a moment, Olivia felt a flicker of fear, but she summoned her courage and explained, "There's someone causing a commotion over there. He didn't purchase any tickets! He's refusing to move from my VIP seat!"
Olivia lied, hoping to coax the lady into removing Robert from the cinema.
"I need you to call security and remove this piece of trash from here!" Owen demanded as the lady walked past him.
The lady, dressed in a custom Burberry yellow outfit, exuded sophistication and beauty. Her expensive attire hinted at her immense wealth. Unbeknownst to them, she was the owner of the cinemas!
"That's the lunatic!" Olivia pointed her finger at Robert.
The lady raised her eyes to Robert, and the entire room fell into a silence as deep as a graveyard. People wondered what she would do to Robert with her intense, emotionless stare. Those who had encountered her before knew that she despised talking and favored action, often resorting to physical confrontation.
For a few moments, she scrutinized Robert without blinking, intensifying the charged atmosphere. Even Olivia wondered why the lady hadn't already thrown him out of the cinema.
Whispers and murmurs filled the air as she walked toward Robert. Owen recognized that walk all too well—she was undoubtedly going to hit Robert.
Just then, the door swung open, and a dozen men rushed inside. The students quickly moved backward, creating space for them to approach the lady. Clad in black hoodies and trousers, and sporting dark sunglasses, the men exuded a strong, muscular presence. They resembled wrestlers and boxers, ready to take orders and act accordingly.
"Madam Ivanna, you called for us!" one of the men said.
"Who was causing a commotion in my cinema?" the lady's voice was low and hushed.
When no one answered, she looked at Olivia, who quickly pointed towards Robert.
Ivanna walked slowly towards Robert, regarding him for another moment before sneering. "You better be ready to pay for it all, or you're dead!”
CHAPTER 9. PAY FOR COMMOTION CAUSED. Olivia couldn't help but smirk, a wide grin stretching across her lips, when she saw Robert go mute in response to Ivannah's words. Ivannah wasn't someone to mess with. Not only was she the owner of the school's cinemas, but she was also known for being ruthless and cold-hearted. She never backed down on her words. Seeing how sternly she looked at Robert, Olivia and Owen felt relieved. Finally, someone else was going to deal with him! They exchanged glances and both smiled wickedly. Suddenly, Robert burst into laughter. "Pay for everything?" he repeated incredulously. "That's impossible! Why should I pay for everything when I did nothing wrong? I was the one being bullied by this ugly duckling and his gold digger," he said, pointing his hands at both Olivia and Owen. "If you're struggling financially, you should politely ask for assistance!" He sneered as he spoke. Ivannah's eyes slightly widened at his words. Did he just suggest that she was
CHAPTER 10. FAKE MONEY! Surprise struck Robert like a lightning bolt. What had Ivannah just said? Fake? That couldn't be. He blinked rapidly, trying to focus on her. He had painstakingly changed the dollars into smaller denominations, as carrying a thousand dollars as a student seemed absurd. He had converted them into two hundred-dollar bills, and now he was being accused of using fake currency. Gasps rippled through the crowd as Ivannah's men approached to inspect the money. Each man who touched it turned back and threw Robert a menacing glare that said, "You try to deceive us, and you're dead meat!" It took Ivannah some time to verify that all the money was indeed counterfeit. She raised her eyebrows at Robert, glaring at him with anger. "You dare to deceive me?" she sneered, handing the stack of fake money back to her accountant. "I'm sorry, ma'am," the lady pleaded, but Ivannah wasn't listening. "Place the money on my desk and pack up your things. You're fired, sweetheart
CHAPTER 11. CARD OUT OF USE. Olivia burst into loud laughter. "You all must think that just because you scammed people with some nice-looking fake Louis Vuitton clothes, you believe he's a rich boy?" she mocked. "He's a poor church mouse who can't even afford a $45 meal. I was stunned when he agreed to pay," she added with a sneer. "He can't even afford two square meals, let alone three! Wait a second, did I just say three?" She scanned the crowd of students, who were all staring at her. "And you think he's capable of paying $14,000? Biggest joke of the century!" Owen chimed in. Upon hearing this, Ivannah didn't appear shocked. She had heard about Robert before, but the crying woman was truly taken aback. She had assumed Robert was rich, perhaps due to his more attractive appearance compared to the ugly Owen. No one could blame her for making such assumptions. Robert, angered by Olivia's remark, snapped back, "This has nothing to do with you! Stay the hell out of this!" Olivia's
CHAPTER 12 DUMBFOUNDED! Ivannah's gaze was fixed on Robert as the final lap of ring ended, but there was no response from him. Her eyes were filled with anger as she clenched her fists. "Hmmm, you must think this is a playground, Robert." Olivia couldn't help but smile, her chest swelling with pride as she watched Robert, stunned and speechless. "Hey, boy, pay up already! You must think we're all qualified for the VIP section," Owen chimed in mockingly. Robert stood there, unsure of what to do next, gritting his teeth. He vowed to take revenge on the person who had given him counterfeit currency. He would have to wait until he was out of this mess. That money could have solved everything if only he hadn't been deceived with fakes. Asking for another favor, like calling his number, would be too childish. The first favor had been a narrow escape. Ivannah's lips formed a wicked grin. "Look here, Rob," she said, walking closer to him. "How about you come, follow me home?" "Ding
Ivana's brows knitted as she couldn't help but burst out laughing. Did Robert really think that because he paid almost $14,000, he was now a billionaire? The cinema was worth ten times that amount. "You must be delusional to think you can buy my investment," she said, amusement clear in her voice. "Find something else to do, maybe go watch some movies to clear those delusions." Murmurs filled the background, and the students began speaking positively about Robert. They didn't know where he got his money from, but since he was able to pay such a large sum, they now saw him as someone worthy of praise. Owen could hear the comments praising Robert for paying the fourteen thousand dollars for the entire cinema, which only fueled his anger more. Why were they praising Robert? It was just the most basic thing anyone could have done, he thought through gritted teeth. Meanwhile, Robert walked closer to Ivan with a proud smirk on his lips and asked, "Are you still open for business, miss?"
"Miss Ivan, did you just tell me to leave on Robert's orders?"What followed was a scoff. "He is fucking poor and has nothing to offer! He can barely feed himself three square meals. He's just a con!""I have been coming to the cinema for the past seven months, always in the VIP section. Miss Ivan, please reconsider," Owen pleaded.Robert laughed. It was as if Owen was begging to stay at the cinemas."Hmm, it looks like someone's billionaire boyfriend is pleading instead of buying the whole cinemas like I did," Robert added, trying to hit Olivia's nerve.Olivia hissed and remained silent. She had nothing to say but stood by Owen since she had lost Robert.Once Ivannah heard what Robert said, she thought it was a very nice idea. The two men might want to show off who was richer by flexing their cards, while she would be the one benefiting."Why not buy it all for $14,000?" Owen rolled his eyes. He didn't have that much money. His family had blocked his card two days ago after he used t
"What do you mean?" Robert asked. The lady suddenly turned her head and locked eyes with Robert, hissing in response. Robert was taken aback, firstly because the store was an authorized Samsung retailer, so there should be no reason for them to lack a Samsung phone. Did she just not want to sell their products? That seemed strange to all of them. They barely knew who she was, yet she acted as if they had some outstanding animosity.Just a few minutes later, a couple walked into the store, their hands interlaced. The girl seemed a bit clumsy, constantly bumping into the boy's body. "Babe, I want an iPhone... please, please, pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee," she pleaded. The voice sounded familiar, and as soon as Robert turned around, his eyes locked with Olivia's. Anger flashed in his eyes as he muttered, "Why do I have to run into these nitwits everywhere I go?""Robert!" Olivia called out, surprise evident in her voice. Her voice caught Owen's attention, and he turned his head, equally stu
Within a few minutes, four policemen rushed into the mall, followed closely by the mall lady who worked there."There he is!" she exclaimed, pointing directly at Robert. "He came back to steal again. He must be the thief from last time!"Robert's eyes widened in shock. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. She was accusing him of stealing something from the mall before, even though this was his first time entering the premises. The police officers quickly closed in on Robert. Two of them pinned him against the wall, forcefully placing handcuffs on his wrists. Robert struggled to break free, but with four men holding him down, it was impossible."I'm not a thief!" he shouted in anger as they finally released their grip, leaving him handcuffed against the wall. "I came here to buy phones!" His voice was filled with rage."Uncuff me, or you'll lose your jobs!" he taunted, but the policemen paid him no attention. It wasn't surprising, really. Robert looked disheveled, and it was unders
