The man spared Ryan only a fleeting glance, categorizing him instantly as nothing more than a driver—a presumption that stung Ryan more than he expected. Yet, he couldn't tear his gaze away, intrigued by the interaction unfolding before him.

Mrs. Sonya's response to the man's greeting was a simple nod. Then she turned to Ryan, her voice cutting through the silent tension. "Sorry for bothering you, but you can as well come in for dinner, what do you think?" Her invitation was unexpected, and Ryan detected a subtle shift in the atmosphere.

The man who had been indifferent about him and only glanced at him once a moment ago now now looked at him with surprise in his eyes.

The man's curiosity mirrored Ryan's own, his gaze now fixed on Ryan with an intensity that belied his initial disinterest. "Who is he, dear?" he asked, his voice carrying a blend of surprise and a hint of concern.
