Chapter 6- Choice

Two young women were moving in the opposite direction. Jennifer and Elisa, the girls, looked up at him with disgust, as if he were a bother in their day.

"Watch where you're going, trash kid," Jennifer jeered. " Or are you too preoccupied looking through trash cans to notice what's around you?

Jennifer's comment made Elisa giggle, evidently finding it funny. Truly, how is somebody you in any event, doing out in the city?" She inquired. Are you able to dive into a dumpster?"

Because of his shame and rage, Daniel felt his face get hotter. He needed to attack the young ladies for their brutal words, however he realize that he was unable to bear to make any adversaries around here.

Disregarding the young ladies, he attempted to advance past them, yet Jennifer obstructed his way. " Where do you believe you're going, unfortunate kid?" she provoked. " Do you have a hot date with Emily?

Daniel felt his heart sink at the notice of Emily's name. When she was dating the governor's son, he was aware that he had no chance with her.

Jennifer and Elisa chuckled at him, obviously partaking in his hopelessness. " You ought to simply surrender, Daniel," Jennifer said. " Emily is beyond your capabilities. She merits somebody who can give her beginning and end she needs. Similar to Stephen

As Daniel heard Jennifer's disdain, he felt a tug of sadness. He was aware that compared to the governor's son, he was nothing. He was only an unfortunate vagrant kid with little of value anybody.

After saying a brief farewell to Jennifer and Elisa, he turned and left, feeling more alone and worthless than ever.

Jim and Daniel sat opposite the counter in HAMMY's restaurant a few minutes later. Jim was drinking a Coca-Cola can while Daniel was alone.

His friend said, "Daniel, I've got a deal for you."

"What's the deal?" asked Daniel, interest provoked.

"Something else, something invigorating. Simply follow me," answered his companion, motioning for him to go along.

Daniel followed his friend down a busy street and through a series of small alleys to a hidden door. After his friend forced it open, they entered a dimly lit room with people gathered around a table.

"What is this location? Who are these individuals?" Daniel, feeling uneasy, asked.

His friend was given the directive to "just sit down and wait."

As Daniel sat close to outsiders, tasting his beverage, he began to feel like an outcast. Individuals appeared to disregard him, not in any event, trying to make casual conversation.

Daniel's unease only got worse as the night went on. He couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't right and that he was an outsider among these people. Jim, his friend, came up to him with a proposal just as he was about to leave.

"Daniel, pay attention; I'll be clear with you. I've been selling drugs and doing outfitted thefts for this mysterious association. It's where I get my cash to oversee myself," Jim uncovered, giving him an envelope loaded up with cash. " I can help you out as well, get you out of neediness."

Surprised and with mixed feelings, Daniel stared at him. He knew he needed the money, so the money was tempting. In any case, then again, he was unable to force himself to be a piece of such criminal operations.

"No, Jim. I can't. I can't risk going to prison or getting injured. There must be another way," Daniel answered, his tone firm.

The envelope was stuffed back into Jim's pocket with a shrug. Dress to impress. Be that as it may, you won't ever get except if you're willing to face challenges."

Unable to shake the numbness in his gut, Daniel tossed and turned throughout the night. Although he was aware that Jim's offer was incorrect, the lure of a better life was too strong for him to resist.

As the main beams of daylight sneaked in through the windows, Daniel realized he needed to pursue a choice. He could either face the challenge and acknowledge Jim's deal or keep battling to earn barely enough to get by.
