Chapter 23: The Mishap

Jason woke up feeling all determined and ready to conquer the world.

He was awake long before his usual time. He took his time having his shower and went to his wardrobe.

He rummaged through it and then pulled out a dress shirt that he had worn during his first year of school.

He put it on and a pair of pants before he wore his best shoes.

He looked at his phone for the time. He still had an hour left to get to work.

He came out to find that his grandmother had already left for her morning shift.

That would change soon, he thought in his head.

His grandfather was having his breakfast in the kitchen and he joined him.

"Good morning, grandpa."

Jason looked at his grandfather when he didn't respond to his greetings.

He made himself toast and coffee before he sat down beside him.

"Good morning grandpa." Jason repeated.

"Oh… I'm so sorry Jason. I didn't see you there." His grandfather replied with a smile that quickly slipped off his face.

"Where… where are you going to?" He asked.
