Chapter 12: Obsession
As they walked through the forest, the only sound was the soft rustle of leaves under their feet. Every now and then, Gianna would catch a glimpse of Dean's silhouette in the shadows, but he seemed to melt into the darkness just as quickly as he appeared. It was like he was more shadow than man.

"What about weapons, then?" Gianna asked. "You don't carry any blades with you?"

Dean chuckled. "I'm the only weapon I need. Besides, I've never really felt the need for those things. They just weigh me down."

Gianna couldn't help but be impressed. The man seemed so at ease in the forest, like he was in his element. She wondered what his story was, how he had come to be so comfortable in the wilderness.

The stag didn't stand a chance. In a flash, Dean had pounced, moving with lightning speed. He was on the stag in an instant, snapping its neck with a single, powerful bite. It was over in a matter of seconds. Gianna watched in awe, not quite believing what she had just witnessed.
