Chapter 3. Soul Home Building

[WELCOME TO THE SOUL HOME BUILDING]

That's what was written on the sign on the double doors of a building. Nordic was taken aback for a moment. When passing through the courtyard earlier, Nordic had time to calculate and estimate the level of this building. There are maybe fifty levels with a large circular shape.

Without waiting long, these double doors opened inwards with a creaking sound. There was a stocky man walking up to Nordic and Eglar. He was dressed in the formal red of a hotel clerk, a marching band hat, a sign saying: Maglier W, Saxiest, Official Member of the Welcoming.

"You guys just arrived?" asked Maglier. His gaze was fixed on the Nordics. "You, are you—"

"Please don't tell anyone," Eglar cut in then. He sounded panicked. "He's Nordic. Just think of it as a normal guest."

Maglier stared at Eglar for a moment, before finally nodding. He opened the way as a welcome gesture.

"Come on, you guys follow me. The man named Nordic has to fill in his data at the reception."

Receptionist?

Nordic frowned in astonishment, so he looked questioningly at Eglar. But Eglar didn't care and instead told him to follow Maglier.

Exhaling softly, Nordic stepped behind Maglier followed by Eglar. Along the red carpet that extends from the double doors of the lobby, Nordic eyes trace the woven skins of various kinds of animals hanging parallel to the lobby walls of this building.

In each of the three plaited skins, a deer head with long, pointed horns was tucked in. Nordic was flabbergasted because all of this must be very expensive. Even stranger, how could they use woven animal skins and deer heads as outdoor displays?

Several people walked by, but they all looked really strange. A half human creature on two horse legs, or some kind of unfamiliar creature.

They all gave the Nordic odd looks as they passed by. It's supposed to be upside down though, right?

Arriving at the reception desk, two very beautiful women greeted. Maglier immediately let Nordic face off against the two.

"We have a new guest," said Maglier.

As if understanding, one of the receptionist women took out a piece of paper. Nordic saw that the paper was written 'REGISTRATION FORM OF SOUL HOME'. Was he really in a hotel?

With a brief shake of the head, Nordic then took a ballpoint pen and filled it out. Just a few easy data fields so Nordic fills up quickly. Until then Nordic found the data column confusing.

[Choose The Elementary Guild That You Interested For Join]

[Saxiest Wood Mage]

'Wood Element Magic Group, where people with abilities as shields are strong because the immune system is the most different. They can be the front guard for other magic troops, but not least end up being the security guards of the Soul Sovereign building.'

[Eternal Fire Dragon Mage]

'The Dragon Fire Elemental Group, where people with the ability to control any kind of fire magic subdue Dragons. They are agile, dangerous, also free adventurers. Their important task is as an air striker. The privilege of eternal life is given to them by the gods.'

[Gods of Mages]

'The most difficult level group in magic, where only less than ten fated people can reach the highest level in this group. Those people will master all the elements of power. However, even if it didn't reach the highest level, the trained members' magic was still dangerous. More dangerous than a curse.'

[Battle Warrior Mage]

'Fighting Knights Group, where the people in it master the elements of magic and martial arts. Their strength was dangerous second only to the Gods of Mage group. There isn't a day without combat training. Sword and magic are their lives.'

"Eglar, what—"

"I hope you don't take the top two." Eglar suddenly whispered right beside Nordic's ear.

Nordic was taken aback, but he didn't flinch for a moment. He noticed a piece of paper in front of him before he followed Eglar's directions.

One tick was written in the 'Gods of Mage' group box. Then Nordic handed the paper over to the two receptionist ladies.

"Are you sure you want to choose the Gods of Mage group?" asked one of the receptionist ladies.

The Nordics just stood still like fools. He doesn't know whether his choice is right or not because he just chooses randomly.

Beside the Nordic, Maglier asked, "If you have already chosen, you can't cancel."

Nordic nodded his head. "Yes, I'm sure of my choice."

"Enough, just finish the process. He needs to watch the training."

A training?

Nordic tried to think of what Eglar meant. But just when he turned around, a ball was thrown suddenly towards the Nordic so that he suddenly bent down.

"Damn, your magic ball missed, Crap!"

In a semi-bowed position, Nordic and Eglar saw six members—he don't know what group they are, looked disappointed. Among the six members, there was someone shorter who looked scared and felt guilty at the same time.

"Forgive me!" said the man whose hands were raised low to his chest.

Eglar groaned. "Those kids again...."

Nordic turned to Eglar who stared hard. "Who are they, Eglar?"

"They are troublesome members. The leader, the one you see standing out the most, is from the Gods of Mage group. He does like to act like he's in charge."

"Throw your fireballs at that imbecile again!"

Wait, you imbecile?

Nordic's brows furrowed in confusion and disapproval. Was the idiot referring to him?!

"Hey you! What are you trying to do?!" Eglar immediately stood up and walked over to the four troublesome members.

"Shut up, brother! I just wanted to get acquainted with a newcomer where we all are!" The tall, burly man, who stood out the most among the members, grinned.

Now Nordic's feeling is not comfortable.

"We have to show him how atmosphere of this place. Let's just say he has to know how to adapt to everything here!"

Hearing those words, Nordic almost chuckled. He didn't even know who that man was, but why did he want to introduce the atmosphere of this place to him.

"Who are you to feel entitled to tell him? After all, your actions just now provoked a fight, Agward!" Eglar gave another warning.

The closer Eglar took a step, the man named Agward nudged the little man beside him repeatedly.

"Hey, you know what to do!" Agward said urgently to the little man beside him.

"No, Mavelto!" Eglar insisted, holding out his hand.

"I'm sorry, Eglar!"

Suddenly, Mavelto stretched out both his palms and shot out a fireball. Thrown with almost unavoidable speed towards Eglar. Luckily, Eglar reflexively stepped aside so he wasn't hit by the attack.

"Maveltos!" Eglar groaned angrily at Mavelto.

Nordic winced as the situation between them grew tense. The fireball attack that bounced off the wall resulted in three animal head displays falling and shattering.

Panicked screams were heard from all sides, the other members had gathered in a circle around Nordic, and the judgmental glances of the other group members were fixed on Nordic.

"You!" Agward pointed decisively at the Nordic. "I challenge you to fight now!"
