Chapter 5. The King of All Kings

Nordic couldn't believe what he was witnessing.

As soon as the cage elevator door opened, he could immediately see the room stretching wide. Everything is made of stone with cave-like hollowed-out rock ceilings. Large square pillars line up neatly flanking a ten meter straight path from the cage elevator door to the steps.

There was a large throne-like chair and about two meters high. Four torches are displayed on each of the four sides of each pillar. There is only one room on this top floor. Reminds the Nordics of the floor of a boss in the human world.

Does this also apply to this room—a boss's room?

But there's no one in this room.

Nordic followed in Eglar's footsteps along the ten meter path to the throne. He still couldn't figure out what this place was.

Everything looks strange and foreign. What is clear, Nordic knows this is not his world, the human world.

"Greetings, Your Majesty." Eglar stopped walking when he arrived four steps before the throne.

Nordic confused. The direction of Eglar's gaze when he spoke was fixed on the throne. But who is 'Your Highness' referring to? There was no one or any being sitting there.

As Nordic was flustered, he felt Eglar's hand pressing his back forward. As if hinting that the Nordics also bowed to pay homage.

The problem is that the Nordics don't even know who to pay homage to?

"Quickly bend over!" Eglar ordered quietly, almost in a whisper, and with emphasis.

Even though they didn't really want to, the Nordics were eventually forced to bow. Nordic sighed very softly and followed Eglar.

"Greetings, Your Highness," said Nordic lazily.

After a split second, Nordic and Eglar straightened up again. Things became quiet. I don't know what to wait. The Nordic was instantly like a dazed person looking around.

Then, suddenly there was a sound of heavy and loud laughter. echoed throughout this room.

"Ho-ho-ho! Welcome, New Boy! I seem to know you!"

Nordic frowned while looking around the corners of the room. Initially the sound of heavy laughter did not appear with a form. But over time, unexpectedly Nordic, the throne chair rotates counterclockwise.

How surprised the Nordics saw that the throne chair turned out to have two sides of the seat. Front and back. When it spun around, there was a figure as big as the Orc creatures that the Nordics saw in fantasy stories but had hair on both arms. Looks like a king kong. Half his height equals the back of a throne chair—about two meters.

'It's huge, what is this creature?' Nordic thought while staring at the creature on the throne.

"Greetings, Your Highness. I brought someone the Orlac Nation has been looking for," Eglar said while Nordic was still reeling in shock.

The 'His Royal Highness' figure cleared his throat while looking at the Nordic very seriously. Truly, all the hairs on the Nordic spines were bristling with that figure's sharp gaze and intimidating aura.

"Has anyone noticed about his arrival yet?" asked the figure of His Highness.

Eglar shook his head. "No, and I didn't tell them. But..." A pause. Eglar suddenly wore a doubtful expression as he turned his gaze to the Nordics. "Something happened in the lobby. An altercation between a Nordic and one of the mage warriors."

"Hmm..."

Then, His Highness' figure suddenly stood up from the throne. His gaze still didn't leave the Nordic. Slowly he stepped down the steps and approached the Nordic.

Due to his nervousness, Nordic spontaneously took a step back when His Highness' figure stopped in front of him. The sudden movement caused Eglar to panic.

While the figure of His Highness did not seem to mind. He immediately laughed low in his deep voice.

"Are you afraid of me?" asked His Majesty.

Nordic noticed a hint of Eglar's gaze that seemed to be telling him to shake his head. Even though Eglar didn't say anything, Nordic already knew what he was doing was wrong. So, to pay homage, the Nordic bowed.

"Excuse me, Your Highness. No, I was just a bit surprised," Nordic replied then.

His Highness' figure chuckled again, then nodded his head. "No problem, it's your first time here. You must be surprised. Now, would you like to come with me and I'll show you something and tell you something?"

Nordic doubt. He stared at Eglar for a split second, then looked back at His Majesty's figure.

"You didn't do anything wrong, I really just wanted to tell you something important."

Even though his tone was calm, Nordic could tell there was an element of firmness to that statement. Therefore the Nordics did not put up any resistance. He nodded his head and looked down for three seconds.

"Very well, Your Majesty."

His Highness' figure beckoned him to follow him. Before actually turning around, His Highness' figure signaled Eglar not to follow. So Eglar just bowed as a sign of obeying the order.

On the other hand, the figure of His Highness walked over with the Nordics following. Nordic had shown a bit of worry when he turned to Eglar. However, Eglar seemed to calm Nordic through gestures of palms moving up and down in front of his chest.

He doesn't know what will be shown this figure of His Majesty. To be sure, Nordic was astonished because he stepped towards the wall behind the throne chair.

Nordic footsteps stopped at the same time as His Majesty's. For only a split second they stood before the wall, until it finally opened. The shaking motion really took the Nordic by storm.

The wall door shifted to the right, revealing a view of a cave-like room. It stretches long and wide.

Nordic entered following His Highness. His gaze completely locked onto the scene within the room.

As Nordic and His Highness stepped into the room, the walls slowly closed again. The only light now comes from the torches that hang on the walls between every six human statues.

On both sides of the room were three statues that Nordic didn't know whose replicas those statues were. What is certain, as Nordic steps into the room, it becomes clearer that the six statues depict their respective characteristics.

Nordic confused. There are not only six statues, but also replicas of six swords. While paying attention to everything in this room, Nordic felt his gaze locked on all the statues and replicas in this room.

While on the wall at the very end of this path, lay a large map. When the Nordic steps were several meters closer to the map, he could realize that there were several marking points on the map.

It's like a museum underground.
