CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY NINE “Well, the swim coach asking the divers where the swimmers are. How does that sound? I made it myself” he said with a proud smile. “I'm not in the mood for those gibberish Daniel. If you have a problem, then just sort it out with me” she yelled again. He was tired of being treated like trash by her own son. Someone she carried in her womb for good nine months. He gave her a bored look and she knew that if he could stand up at this moment, he would walk away from her. “I do not have a problem. And if we are talking about problems here, then I think you should start with yourself. Thinking of throwing your son to the Frontline of the battle after starting a war is the most cowardly thing anyone on earth would do. I can possibly take it from Gabriel as he is not my biological father, but what about you? What about you?” He asked, his voice getting louder at the end of his statement “How bad do you think of me Daniel? I would not do such
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY Owen had been driving for the past two hours, half of which he had used to drive into town and the other half he had been using to locate Danny's house, but all his efforts were in vain. He had practically gone round the city twice and yet he couldn't locate it. She sure had a taste for peace and decorum, he commended her for that. He had been able to locate the house that day because Rina had been with him. He took deep breaths as he was clearly losing it. He needed to calm himself down. He tried calling Rina but the moment he picked up his phone, he wiped the idea off. They had an issue a few days ago, but that didn't mean she wouldn't call him. He knew she was at home, the guards had told him. But she didn't bother to ask for his whereabouts. If she couldn't call him, then why would he? That was the thought he had in mind as he ruled the idea off. He took a long deep breath as he tried to remember the landmarks he had used to locate the place
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY ONE‘’Well, well Owen. All these hustle and bubbles just to get someone like you, you're not really worth it though” he heard her voice and that was when he raised his head up to see her. She looked provocative in the long dress she was putting on. One look at her and you would think she was still in her early twenties. “Where's she?” Owen asked, he was clearly not interested in any other thing she was saying at the moment. “Oh, in one piece” she said and Owen didn't like the sound of that. She sounded cheerful and he knew Danny was twisted in the brain, so whatever made her happy would always be at the detriment of others. “Where's she?” He asked again and she sighed. “Oh Owen, always in a hurry” She signaled to the guards and they went in. He saw them drag someone in from the back and he almost screamed in horror. The two guards held her two arms each and she had her head bowed and her clothes were bloodied. She looked half dead and th
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY TWO They had been standing for the past ten minutes and Danny had not said a word to them even after everything Tyla had said. The guards had stopped banging the door and Rose Mary surmised that they had come to a conclusion that banging it would not make her open it. She had a cunny smirk on her face. “What do you say Danny? Just a word from you and those men outside will back down. You can end this, you alone can end it” Tyla continued, hoping she could convince her even though her hope was very low. “So, I should let him go? Is that what you are trying to say” She asked, her gun still pointing at Owen where he knelt on the floor. “Yes, and we can all go home in Peace” Rose Mary replied this time. “Here you are, talking of peace and still having a gun pointed at me. How peaceful that looks” Danny taunted. Owen looked between Rose and Tyla and he gave her a slow nod. She gave Danny a thorough look before gently bringing the gun dow
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY THREE “I shouldn't have fought with her” Kate said, as she lay in bed with Mario in her room. She had thought of what happened between her and her mother earlier and now, she was feeling a little bit guilty. She could clearly understand the kind of pain and confusion her mother was in, and yelling at her that way was like pouring salt on an open wound. She had to sleep over it to realize that. Mario shifted on the bed and she understood he was trying to sit up. She sat up and he did too. They sat facing each other and he gave her a look that said ‘I told you so’ . “Don't give me that look” Kate said as she bent her face. She was already having a bad day without getting out of bed. She stood up from the bed and stripped to the bathroom. She washed her face and cleaned her teeth before coming out. She met him in the same position she had left him and she gave him a questioning look. “Aren't you getting out of bed?” She asked. “Hell, I am
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY FOUR Rina walked with the girl through the dark narrow road. The place looked like a bunk and if it wasn't for the fact that she had her guns tucked in her trousers intact, she would've been scared. The girl in front of her looked calm, winch could only mean that she had passed through the road several times. They walked for a while and in no time, they were out of the dark road. Rina sighed. She hated the smell of the place as it made her nauseous. The girl stopped walking and Rina paused too. “Are we there yet?” Rina asked as she could see that they were in the middle of nowhere. There were no houses around, just a full street of lights. Helen didn't answer, rather she turned to Rina with a smile and Rina shook her head slowly. “I always knew it was a setup all along” she said as she brought out two pistols from her side, pointing them at Helen where she stood. “Oh Relax Rina, someone wants to say a word to you” She said and before Ri
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY FIVEIt's been about four hours already and Kate's back hurts from being strapped to a bed all day. She looked at the girl who had her eyes closed, but she could tell that she was not sleeping. She had been that way for the past hours too and Rina wondered if she wasn't feeling uncomfortable at the very least. “Hey” Rina called and the girl didn't answer. She felt it was because of the pods in her ear and she had to yell louder. “Hey” she called again, louder this time and she opened her eyes. She removed the pods from her ear with a sigh and she sat up. “What is it?” She asked with a disgruntled sigh. “So you heard me?” Rina asked. She thought she wouldn't. “Yes I did, I heard you the first time too” she answered with a little shake of her head “What do you want?” She asked and Rina shrugged. “My back hurts” she said and the girl gave her a questioning look. “And how is that my business?” She asked. Rina glared daggers at her. “You got
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY SIXShe followed them home and according to her guess earlier, they were not in any good position. The house was just as she remembered, just a little more patches here and there. She was irritated by it, but she didn't dare say that out loud because she knew that if it wasn't for their mistake, she would still be in the same position with them. Partly, she was happy that they had actually sold her out to Danny. But she was mostly grateful to Rosemary. At the thought of her, her eyes got heavy, but she managed to blink it off. She had to get back to her before Danny thought of harming her as she wouldn't take such. They were through with their sobbing and now, they were just reminiscing old time memories. She couldn't cry again. She just had to spend a little bit of time with them and she would return home. It seems they had given birth to a kid after her, and her name was Helen. The one they had sent to get her as she was practically the best among the
