CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY SIX

“I shouldn't have fought with her” Kate said, as she lay in bed with Mario in her room. She had thought of what happened between her and her mother earlier and now, she was feeling a little bit guilty. She could clearly understand the kind of pain and confusion her mother was in, and yelling at her that way was like pouring salt on an open wound. She had to sleep over it to realize that.

Mario shifted on the bed and she understood he was trying to sit up. She sat up and he did too. They sat facing each other and he gave her a look that said ‘I told you so’ .

“Don't give me that look” Kate said as she bent her face. She was already having a bad day without getting out of bed.

She stood up from the bed and stripped to the bathroom. She washed her face and cleaned her teeth before coming out. She met him in the same position she had left him and she gave him a questioning look.
