CHAPTER FIFTY SIX

Jason hopped in his car as soon as he left Lisa's house and drove home.

For some reason he was angry at her for not telling him about her boyfriend. He also felt embarrassed.

This had to be the worst Christmas ever.

First, it was William and Celia and then Lisa.

Deciding not to dwell on either situation, he plugged in his aux and began to play some Christmas music.

Jason got home to an empty house. His Christmas tree was up and so were his lights but he felt a loneliness that he hadn't felt in a long time.

The memory of the first time he'd spent Christmas with Hastings flashed in his mind.

It had been a perfect Christmas, one of the few Christmases he'd had in a while. It was also his first Christmas with Allison, thinking about now, she was far different from what she was in those first few years of marriage while grandpa Hastings was alive.

"Sir, there's food in the kitchen if you want some." A voice startled him from his thoughts.
