William and Alison sat at their table, their hushed whispers carrying a sense of disbelief and shock.

The turn of events had left them flabbergasted. William was visibly agitated, clenching and unclenching his fists, his knuckles white from the tension of seeing Jason and still njot knowing who the CEO was.

He leaned in close to Alison, his voice barely above a whisper.

"Alison, this can't be real. It's got to be some sort of a joke. Tell me why that lowlife is here with us?" William muttered, his eyes darting around the restaurant as if searching for hidden cameras.

"Jason's probably just working here as a waiter or something." He continued.

Alison, equally astonished, glanced at her William with her brow furrowed. "But, William, he looked so confident. Did you see the way he was dressed? He's practically oozing success."

William shook his head, his denial unwavering. "No, it can't be. I won't believe it until I hear it from him."

Meanwhile, Jason maintained his composure, his demeanor the embodiment of calm and confidence.

He approached William and Alison's table with measured steps, ready to face William's impending outburst. He had anticipated this confrontation and was prepared to handle it with grace.

With a polite yet firm tone, Jason addressed William, acknowledging the shock and disbelief that hung heavily in the air.

"William, I understand that this is a lot to take in. But I assure you, this is not a joke, and I am indeed the new owner of Montgomery Enterprise."

William's anger boiled over, and he couldn't contain his frustration any longer. "Jason, don't play games with me! How could someone like you become the CEO of this company? It's absurd!"

Jason's gaze remained steady, his voice unwavering. "I assure you, William, this is no game. I've worked hard for this opportunity, and I've earned it. I didn't come here to gloat or play pranks. I came to meet you, to extend my gratitude for being here tonight, and to discuss our future business dealings."

The confrontation between Jason and William was getting heated.

William, who was unable to accept the reality before him, continued to question and protest, while Jason remained composed, answering each of William's accusations with patience and poise.

"Jason, I don't understand how this could have happened," William said, his voice tinged with frustration. "I just freaking sold my company shares to this company. How did it end up in your hands?"

Jason leaned in slightly, his voice low and earnest.

"William, I understand that this may be difficult to accept. But I want you to know that I'm open to working together.”

Your experience and knowledge of the business are invaluable to me. I'd like to discuss a potential partnership and find a way for both of us to benefit." Jason replied, trying to hide his main goal.

William's denial raged on, but Alison's reaction to the unfolding events provided an additional layer of intrigue.

Her expressions and body language, while more indirect than her William's, revealed her mixed emotions.

As William continued to question Jason's rise to power, Alison's gaze darted back and forth between the two men, her eyes narrowing as she assessed the situation.

Her whispers to William were filled with a mix of disbelief and envy.

"William, I can't believe this. Look at him, so confident," she murmured, her voice tinged with envy. "He's not even hesitating. It's like he was born to be in charge."

William nodded, his own feelings of envy becoming increasingly evident. "I know, Alison. It's infuriating. But we can't let him see that. We need to maintain our composure."

As the dinner progressed, the envy, jealousy, and scorn of both William and Alison became more pronounced.

Their discomfort with Jason's newfound wealth and power was impossible to hide. Snide comments were exchanged under their breath, and disdainful glances were shot in Jason's direction.

Alison couldn't help herself but to mutter a passive-aggressive remark as Jason and William continued their discussion. "I suppose we should expect big changes, huh? Now that the 'new CEO' is in charge."

William nodded in agreement, his jaw clenched with resentment. "It's a charade, Alison. He doesn't belong in this world."

As the tension in the dinner mounted, the height of William and Alison's negative emotions became increasingly evident.

Tension hung in the air like a thick cloud, casting a pall over the elegant event.

Diners nearby couldn't help but notice the escalating conflict between Jason, William, and Alison.

Whispers and sidelong glances amplified as they eavesdropped on the unfolding drama, sensing that something significant was afoot.

Jason, despite the relentless bombardment of William's disbelief and anger, maintained an air of composure.

Deep inside, his thoughts ran wild. He couldn't help but reflect on the path that had led him to this moment.

The small-town mechanic who had once been unjustly accused and thrown out had come a long way.

"Stay calm, Jason," he whispered to himself, channeling his determination to assert his newfound authority.

He was not going to let William's outburst break him. Instead, he would use it as an opportunity to demonstrate that he was indeed the new owner of Montgomery Enterprise.

As Jason patiently addressed William's outburst, he could sense that a turning point was approaching.

Jason raised a wine glass and used his fork to clink on the glass. “Excuse me. May I have everyone’s attention?”

The clients and diners paused including William and Alison and an unexpected hush fell over the restaurant. The diners who had been eavesdropping were now engrossed, waiting for Jason’s sudden announcement.

Jason leaned in closer to William and, in a low, steady voice, hinted at the bombshell to come.

"William, I understand this is a lot to take in, but you'll soon learn that this is no joke. I'm the new owner of Montgomery Enterprise, and it's time for you to listen. We have much to discuss."

The words hung in the air, and in that moment, a chilling silence enveloped the scene.
