It couldn't really be called a strange feeling.

Ethan had once felt something similar before: it was when he got married to Sophia. To the current Ethan however, he just dismissed it as a feeling any man would get would see when they saw a beautiful woman.

After all, Maya was looking very pretty.

"Isn't that a bit..." Ethan wanted to refute.

"It's perfectly fine. If you keep referring to me in such a way, I would almost feel like I've gotten quite old." Maya insisted.

Ethan went silent for a moment before nodding his head in agreement.

"That's alright, Maya." He said.

Maya felt an inexplicable happiness bloom up in her chest and her cheeks flushed red.

"Hmm! Good!" Thank you." She replied bashfully. Ethan didn't pay any attention to any of that.

"Were you able to get any more evidence of the insidious things that the Waltons have been engaged in?" Ethan asked, getting straight to the point.
