Miles smiled ominously as he handed the painting over to Caleb. “Sure thing, Mr. Autumn.”

Caleb frowned slightly before gathering himself. He had expected some snarky words from Miles, but he was thrown off by the man’s tactical obedience. Miles, on the other hand, didn’t feel any animosity from Caleb right now, and thus, he simply didn’t feel the need to make a snarky remark against the man. Plus, Caleb was one of the organizers, and Miles was more concerned with getting to the bottom of this painting revelation rather than getting in trouble with a major member of the organizing committee, which may then ruin his plan.

Once the painting was in Caleb’s hands, he began inspecting this antique item along with the other organizers.
