Chapter 11: Fight

"Fight!" the demon rats chanted as if they were possessed by something.

Caleb edged away from the battle crazed rats that happened to be near him as a couple of rats bit and clawed at each other. He should have known that things wouldn't be that simple. Frankly, it was quite scary how bloodthirsty they were as soon as Karen set out to carry out her suggestion. With how vicious the fights were, he didn't dare to volunteer himself.

If he went down, he feared he would make a fool of himself and lose the respect they had for him. The only person he could count on to possibly not kill him right off the bat would be Karen, but she was busy supervising the fights since she understood it was important they didn't reduce their numbers. He winced as he saw a demon rat slash at its opponent's eye.

"System, how likely are we to be found by the heroes?" Caleb asked.

[As the heroes have been summoned just recently, they likely won't be leaving the capital until at least six months have passed.]

He
