The hobgoblins lumbered on as they sought out their prey. They had seen their prey disappear in this direction, but there were no traces of them anywhere. It shouldn't have been hard to sniff them out. As the hobgoblins grew more annoyed, they started picking fights with each other and blaming each other for losing the prey.
In the middle of their struggle, they failed to notice one of their members had disappeared. The hobgoblin had seen their prey out of the corner of its eye and had decided to go after them alone. After all, the prey was weak. It had nothing to fear and wanted to seize this opportunity to keep the prey all to itself. That was the last thought it had before Luke decapitated it.
Staring at the hobgoblin's corpse, he had to admit he was impressed with Tracy. When he was aiming to pressure her to reveal what she could do, he hadn't expected her to reveal that kind of abil
Before 'Grace' could come to a decision, there was a disturbance. The duo peered around the corner to see a group of goblins looking around. At the sight, Luke physically relax. Goblins and hobgoblins didn't get along. The former picked fights with the latter, and the latter looked down on the former. Then that would mean that since there were goblins here, the hobgoblins wouldn't be around.Luke glanced back at 'Grace' and asked, "Can you at least fight goblins?"She puffed up her chest, and he took that as a sign that she could indeed fight goblins. Without waiting to hear what she had to say, he burst into action and charged at the group of goblins. He could hear her following behind him as he cut down the first goblin before they realized what was happening. Luke was able to kill another one before they retaliated. They came at him with their weapons, hoping to kill them, but they were so lamentably weak that all it took was one hit to kill them. It was pathetic and unsettling. It
Bobby was really not having a good day. The worst part about it was that it was completely normal now to have a lot of bad days. First, they failed their quest. Then they had to live through a bad memory as punishment for their failure. As if that wasn't enough, they then had to face goblins and deal with Grace's temporary kidnapping. The only good thing about it was that they didn't lose her.He couldn't imagine what would have happened if they couldn't save her in time. Of course, then they had to find a place to stay after they found out they had been in an illusion. When they got to said town, it was abandoned. If that wasn't enough, they discovered that there were demons living there. Now everyone was split up, and he was stuck with a bunch of demons after him without any backup. The reminder that he was on his own made him annoyed. He didn't know what Felipe was thinking by running
Of course, it was easier said than done. They had been lucky when they found Bobby before anything bad could happen to him. The chances of them getting lucky a second time weren't high. However, what choice do they have? They couldn't just not try to find Felipe. How were they supposed to explain to the other knights that they didn't try to look for him?It was bad enough they had lost track of Felipe, but they had no way of finding the others outside of simply looking for them and hoping they bumped into them. They didn't even have any clues on how to find the others. They didn't leave any clues behind as to where they had gone. Luke still couldn't figure out how they could lose sight of the other group so fast. While it was true that there was a period of time where they had been separated, it was ridiculous that no one heard anything. The other group should have heard them being attac
Theodore held his sword over his head and swung down as he crashed to the ground on top of a hobgoblin. As the dust cleared, it was clear that the hobgoblin was dead as Theodore pulled his sword free from its corpse. The trio stared, shocked by what they saw. None of them expected to see Theodore appear out of the blue after they had lost sight of him and the rest of his group.Luke was the first to snap out of it as he shouted, "Move."Running out of his hiding spot, he rushed to help Theodore take down the other three hobgoblins. Bobby and Tracy followed after with the former firing his arrow at one of the hobgoblin mages. The bow and arrows he took definitely did more damage than his original ones, as it pierced the hobgoblin's wrist. The fireball it was about to use against Theodore dissipated. It turned to see who had done it, only to get a sword to the face. Theodore grunted as his sword pierced through the back of the demon's mouth. However, it was enough to kill it, as it reac
Tracy waved it off by saying, "It's expected when fighting demons. Even if the ones we're fighting right now don't have brains, they know to go after the weak. They prefer to hunt prey that they perceive to be weak."Her callousness disturbed Bobby, but Luke didn't bat an eye. Theodore didn't either, but he was known as a jerk, so there was no surprise there. It was normal for the weak to be trampled on. Healers were unfortunately one of them despite their abilities. Since their skills and abilities revolved around healing people, it was natural that they weren't stronger than the average native. That was assuming that the healers Tracy was talking about were people with the actual class. The natives liked to call anyone with the capacity to heal a healer, whether or not they had the actual class they were named after, which made things confusing. It was also the reason why the Healer cl
Theodore then said, "We better get moving before more hobgoblins show up."That was probably the longest Luke had ever heard Theodore speak without insulting anyone or acting the slightest bit like a jerk. However, that wasn't what caught his attention. Why wasn't Theodore attacking him or lashing out at him over Grace? It was completely out of character for a guy who had become attached and overly protective of her. Well, he had no right to talk even if their reasons weren't the same.It didn't change that Theodore wasn't doing anything to him. Also, he hadn't mentioned anything about Grace being kidnapped by the prophets. In fact, considering what he said, it sounded like the whole incident had been covered up completely. The prophets would probably want to hide this fact, as they didn't want the heroes attacking them, but what was Grace's excuse? She
Both groups spotted each other as soon as they were within a few yards of each other. Chris stood up and waved at the group, while the knights just stood up. Bobby was the only one to react excitedly on their side, as he also waved back and ran towards the other group. Christ met him halfway as they hugged each other and clapped each other on the back."It's good to see you in one piece," said Chris as they broke apart."I should be the one saying that," said Bobby. "Where did you guys go?"Chris frowned as he looked at Theodore, who had his arms crossed. "Didn't Theodore tell you?"Recalling what Theodore had told them, Bobby sheepishly said, "Yeah, well, I want to hear from you."The story Chris gave was basically the same as Theodore's, except for a few more details. Apparently, th
Once Chris gave them a tour, they returned to their previous spot and saw that the knights had also returned with grim expressions. Given what they must have seen, it was understandable that they would return like that. If they had come back with smiles on their faces, it would either mean that a miracle happened to cure Felipe or that they were sick in the head. While Luke would have loved to say all the natives were messed up in the head, he knew that was only in regards to 'heroes' and his experiences that colored his view of them. Since the prophets were neutral, he couldn't automatically assume they were like the rest. Of course, that wouldn't mean he would automatically trust them or open his arms to them without something in return."How is he?" asked Chris. The knights remained silent until Cedric said, "They were able to stabalize him."
