Theodore held his sword over his head and swung down as he crashed to the ground on top of a hobgoblin. As the dust cleared, it was clear that the hobgoblin was dead as Theodore pulled his sword free from its corpse. The trio stared, shocked by what they saw. None of them expected to see Theodore appear out of the blue after they had lost sight of him and the rest of his group.

Luke was the first to snap out of it as he shouted, "Move."

Running out of his hiding spot, he rushed to help Theodore take down the other three hobgoblins. Bobby and Tracy followed after with the former firing his arrow at one of the hobgoblin mages. The bow and arrows he took definitely did more damage than his original ones, as it pierced the hobgoblin's wrist. The fireball it was about to use against Theodore dissipated.

It turned to see who had done it, only to get a sword to the face. Theodore grunted as his sword pierced through the back of the demon's mouth. However, it was enough to kill it, as it reac

Tracy waved it off by saying, "It's expected when fighting demons. Even if the ones we're fighting right now don't have brains, they know to go after the weak. They prefer to hunt prey that they perceive to be weak."Her callousness disturbed Bobby, but Luke didn't bat an eye. Theodore didn't either, but he was known as a jerk, so there was no surprise there. It was normal for the weak to be trampled on. Healers were unfortunately one of them despite their abilities. Since their skills and abilities revolved around healing people, it was natural that they weren't stronger than the average native. That was assuming that the healers Tracy was talking about were people with the actual class. The natives liked to call anyone with the capacity to heal a healer, whether or not they had the actual class they were named after, which made things confusing. It was also the reason why the Healer cl

Theodore then said, "We better get moving before more hobgoblins show up."That was probably the longest Luke had ever heard Theodore speak without insulting anyone or acting the slightest bit like a jerk. However, that wasn't what caught his attention. Why wasn't Theodore attacking him or lashing out at him over Grace? It was completely out of character for a guy who had become attached and overly protective of her. Well, he had no right to talk even if their reasons weren't the same.It didn't change that Theodore wasn't doing anything to him. Also, he hadn't mentioned anything about Grace being kidnapped by the prophets. In fact, considering what he said, it sounded like the whole incident had been covered up completely. The prophets would probably want to hide this fact, as they didn't want the heroes attacking them, but what was Grace's excuse? She

Both groups spotted each other as soon as they were within a few yards of each other. Chris stood up and waved at the group, while the knights just stood up. Bobby was the only one to react excitedly on their side, as he also waved back and ran towards the other group. Christ met him halfway as they hugged each other and clapped each other on the back."It's good to see you in one piece," said Chris as they broke apart."I should be the one saying that," said Bobby. "Where did you guys go?"Chris frowned as he looked at Theodore, who had his arms crossed. "Didn't Theodore tell you?"Recalling what Theodore had told them, Bobby sheepishly said, "Yeah, well, I want to hear from you."The story Chris gave was basically the same as Theodore's, except for a few more details. Apparently, th

Once Chris gave them a tour, they returned to their previous spot and saw that the knights had also returned with grim expressions. Given what they must have seen, it was understandable that they would return like that. If they had come back with smiles on their faces, it would either mean that a miracle happened to cure Felipe or that they were sick in the head. While Luke would have loved to say all the natives were messed up in the head, he knew that was only in regards to 'heroes' and his experiences that colored his view of them. Since the prophets were neutral, he couldn't automatically assume they were like the rest. Of course, that wouldn't mean he would automatically trust them or open his arms to them without something in return."How is he?" asked Chris. The knights remained silent until Cedric said, "They were able to stabalize him."

This seemed to get Theodore's attention, as he said, "We should check up on her. It isn't good to leave her constantly healing with her weak abilities."In other words, he was worried about her condition, especially since she had just dealt with an emergency patient. He really wasn't being honest about his concerns, but Luke chose to ignore it for now as it wasn't that important. At least with Theodore quickly agreeing with his plan, it had gotten the ball rolling, and the group set off to find Grace. They found her diligently checking on the injured with a serious expression. She didn't seem to notice them until she happened to look in their direction. Grace took a moment to wave at them before she was drawn away to help another person. Luke couldn't help but marvel at how she was working so hard in the face of so many strangers and gore.Once she was

Rereading the quest descriptions again, he realized that his initial assumption was wrong. While it was true the quests assigned to him seemed to want opposing results, there was a third option. If he could get the prophets to remain neutral, then he would be able to fulfill both quests. He was a bit disappointed that he couldn't have them completely loyal to him, but it was impossible.Since he was the new demon king, making the prophets his allies would mean it counted as them becoming allies with demons. Technically, he could still go through with it and purposely fail the quest assigned to him by the angels' system, but he would rather not go through another punishment so soon. Also, he couldn't be sure how bad the punishment would be, so he wasn't willing to test it.Luke turned his attention back to the elderly woman as she said, "I'm afraid our leader is indisposed. "No, we don't," Luke said.Grace stared at him in shock as the elderly woman asked, "Are you saying you're against the agreement?""Of course. Everything so far has been to your benefit. I practically get nothing out of it," he said."The last demon king agreed to leave us in peace as long as we remain neutral. I don't see why it's any different now," the elderly woman said.Luke heavily doubted that the two situations were remotely the same. While he didn't know exactly how the confrontation and agreement between the two happened, he couldn't imagine it being like this. She was demanding a lot of things from him just so they could reach the exact same agreement the prophets had with the previous demon king. She was basically acting like he was the weaker party in the negotiations whe

"You seem to have a lot on your mind. Would you mind letting this granny know what you're thinking about?" the elderly woman asked, reminding Luke that he wasn't alone."Actually, there's a lot I want to share with you, but first there's something I want to know. What's the real reason you offered Tracy up?" he asked.Instead of answering his question, she asked, "What do you mean?""I don't find your reasons convincing enough," he said as he crossed his arms. "You spoke cruelly to her, but I think you were only doing that to push her away so she would want to leave of her own free will.""She's my granddaughter, so of course I'll be harsh on her. Life as a prophet isn't an easy one, you know," she said."You don't have to pretend. She isn't here to hear what you have to say," he said."I don't know what you're talking about," she said."Let's be honest here. I sent her away with Grace for a reason," he said. The elderly

    Chapter 389: The End

"The clean up is doing well," 'Kayla' said as she stood before Luke, who was sitting on the throne.Instead of responding to her, he gave a nod before looking to the next person. The corners of his mouth twitched as he wanted to frown. The previous demon king's women were staring at him, waiting patiently for him to finish his work. He didn't know what Mildred said to them, but they were all now convinced that they should try to seduce him.[They are strong women, so you shouldn't have any complaints about adding them to your harem.]Luke was unamused by the demon king's words. He knew very well that Luke hadn't been interested in building a harem. It was really bad enough that he had four women to contend with. Speaking of them, the quartet came walking into the throne room, with Grace taking the lead. She was looking well despite having only recovered yesterday."Luke, are you still in your meeting?" she asked as Tracy, Violet, and Ruth kept to her sides.Standing up, Luke said, "It'

Everyone stared in disbelief. How were they supposed to react to this sudden reveal? They had expected it to be a big deal because of the system's threat, but this was way behind anything they could have imagined. Luke distracted himself from the implications to assess everyone's reactions. Chris's mouth had dropped open while Bobby looked ill.Violet, on the other hand, was doing a good job keeping herself together, though it was just barely. Her fists were clenched, with her nails digging into her palm. Theodore was the only odd one out. He was quickly shocked by the information, but he appeared to be the calmest of the bunch. Luke couldn't decide if that was a good or bad thing as he returned his attention back to the system.Chris ended up being the first to break the silence. "You can't be serious."[The system assures the user that it is quite serious.][The users should confirm their desire as soon as possible. Chapter 387: To Go Home or To Stay (1)

Luke couldn't believe it. The creator had actually been telling the truth when they said they could go home if they did enough to entertain them. He should be happy, but he was strangely numb about the reward. Perhaps it was because he had become used to the idea that he would never see his family again. That was why hearing the contrary left him with conflicted feelings."We can go home," Chris said in awe.A quick look at his party members was enough to tell Luke how overjoyed they were at the idea. After Luke had told them it was impossible, they had been resigned to never return back to their family and friends. It was why they had so willingly joined his side and turned their backs on the angels. However, a part of them had hoped that Luke was wrong."I wonder how everyone's been doing," Bobby said.Chris wrapped his arms around him and said, "I can't wait to see everyone."Violet had a soft smile, while Theodore only grunted. It should be a happy moment, but Luke was too used to

It couldn't understand what was happening. The creator could feel itself being torn away from its vessel against its will. This couldn't be happening. It was the creator. Everything went exactly as it wanted. There was no way it could lose to a human that had been originally brought into this world as nothing more than a tool. However, despite its efforts, it was being forced out by the sword in its chest. What was it? It couldn't be an ordinary weapon. Even when it was being injured, it had only been because the creator allowed it. Otherwise, the people wouldn't be able to actually harm it. Reaching out towards Luke and the sword again, it felt the sword pulse. Suddenly, the creator found its unable to move. An invisible force was keeping it from moving. The creator couldn't believe it. Such a thing had never happened before. The only possible reason that the creator could think of was that the sword contained a fragment of its power. However, that couldn't be it. The creator's eyes rolled upward, and he spotted Takisha standing on its neck. Takisha didn't waste a second to bite her teeth in the creator's throat. She grimaced at the vile taste filling her mouth. Considering this was supposed to be the creator possessing a human, she would have thought the blood would taste delicious. Instead, it was probably the most disgusting blood she had ever tasted.Takisha wasn't even sure it was blood. Dirt tasted better than this. However, she focused on injecting her venom into the creator. A shadow loomed over her as the creator raised a hand to rush her. She didn't immediately run, and her faith was rewarded when vines and thorns wrapped around the creator's hand. Blood spilled from where the thorns pierced its skin.Of course, this wasn't enough to stop it for long. The creator ripped free, but its attention had been successfully redirected to Mildred, who unleased several arrows in its direction before running. It deflected them and rushed to crush

The creator was beginning to grow bored. Luke had disappeared off to who knew where, leaving them to deal with the rabble. None of them stood a chance against them. Of course, Luke being there wouldn't have changed much either, but this was supposed to be a game between them. If he wasn't there, then what was the point? They were debating whether they should cut the game short and simply end things when they heard a familiar voice shout, "Move!"Instantly, the creator raised a clawed hand to catch the arrow that had been shot in their direction. Their eyes spotted a familiar dark elf notching another arrow into her bow. So it looked like Luke had rescued the women that they had knocked out. They could have simply killed them and been done with it, but the creator had ultimately decided not to bother.Who would have expected that Luke would go rescue the

"What's this?" Luke muttered as he stared at the emergency quest.Luke never expected the system itself to give out a quest to defeat the creator. He would have thought it would be on their side since it was created by the system. Perhaps it saw the creator as a threat and wanted them to be dealt with. It sent shivers down his spine to see the quest, and he looked up to see that the others in the room were also reading a message from the system."Did you also receive the same quest as me?" he asked, though he already knew the answer."What's this nonsense?" demanded the succubus. "Defeat the creator? I've never heard such a thing.""There has to be a mistake," the dark elf said as she crossed her arms. "Why would we fight against our creator?"Laurel looked towards Luke and demanded,
