"I'm going to miss you," said Grace as she held Rose's hands in her own.

"It was a treat teaching you. I hope you can be my granddaughter's support on your journey," Rose said.

"Grandmother," said Tracy in an offended tone.

Luke stepped in and said, "We'll take good care of her."

The story they had agreed on was that Tracy wanted to go with them after seeing what they could do instead of staying with her family. It wasn't much, but the simplest reasons were sometimes the best option. No one would bat an eye at the thought that a kid would want to go on a journey and get away from home, even though Tracy wasn't technically a kid.
