"I think this is a bad idea," Tracy said as she had her arms crossed in front of her.

"Denied," Luke said. "If you thought it was a bad idea, you should have said so earlier."

Tracy scowled as she stared in the direction the party had disappeared to. The plan was simple. They would pretend that Luke and Tracy weren't part of the party, so they weren't 'heroes'. Technically, Tracy wasn't a 'hero' to begin with, but that was beside the point. The point was that Luke and Tracy were introduced as tag alongs to gauge the guards' reactions.

As Luke expected, they weren't allowed in, even though the others insisted they should come along. He wasn't surprised by their reaction and was even counting on the duo to be denied entry. Of course, they could have simply gone with the truth and said that Tracy wasn't a 'hero', but he didn't want her to be by herself for the investigation.

Obviously, Grace was out, as he worried they would both get into trouble without supervision. Chris couldn't do it

After clearing out all the bodies, Luke looked at how many points he had received. He had only gathered about twenty two points. It couldn't be helped since there were only twenty two demonic monkeys they fought and killed, but with such a small number of points, he couldn't imagine being able to get anything worthwhile from the store.Well, it couldn't hurt to check. He pulled up the store and scanned the options. Luke wasn't sure what he was expecting, but he certainly didn't expect to see the store selling gold in exchange for points. The rate seemed to be one point for one gold. That meant if he exchanged all his points, he would get twenty two gold. Immediately, he checked to see if there was an option to exchange gold for points. He was denied, much to his disappointment. Of course, it couldn't be that easy to earn points. The demon king had already said as much. Luke had no need for more gold when he was getting decent money from the Morris family because of their deal. It woul

"It's been a while since we stayed in town. Is no one worried about the others?" Grace asked as she glanced at the people with her.She had been uneasy about separating from Luke, but he insisted it would be better for her to stick with the rest of the party while he stayed with Tracy. It wasn't like it was the first time they had been separated, but this was the longest time they had been apart. It had already been a few days since they started investigating the town for clues about the demons. So far they hadn't found anything, and she found it suffocating how the townspeople kept pressuring them to hurry and deal with the demons when they barely had anything to go on. She made sure to stay close to Theodore after the one incident where someone pulled at her clothes, nearly ripping them. Theodore almost beat the man to death before the rest of the party managed to pull him off.The stranger clearly didn't mean to do it, but she didn't feel comfortable letting people come close to he

"Okay, seriously, how are we still finding nothing on those demons?" said Bobby as he slammed his fist on the table. This drew the attention of the people in the inn, and he ducked his head to avoid their attention. Lately, the atmosphere had been getting uglier and uglier with each passing day. They had been there for almost a week now, with no news from Luke or Tracy either. It was honestly worrying, but they couldn't leave the town to go look for them.It wasn't because they didn't want to, but it was because the townspeople insisted they stay and solve the demon problem. The situation had gotten so bad that a fight might have broken out if the heroes hadn't backed down. It took a bit of effort to keep Theodore from doing something that the party would regret. This was nothing like they expected. As heroes, they should be treated better."If only Luke were here, then we might be able to get out of this mess," Chris said.Theodore only scowled as he drank from his mug. Grace glanced

"You've got to be kidding me," Chris said as he gripped the bars of his cell and glared through the gap. "I demand a trial."He was ignored by the guards, who went about doing whatever it was they did. With a huff, he let go of the bars and backed away. Once he was close to the wall, he sat down. The rest of the party were also stuck in their own cells, so he couldn't see how they were doing. Hopefully, they were okay. The guards had taken all their belongings before throwing them into their cells. After a few moments, he called out, "Is everyone okay?""I'm just peachy," said Bobby."I'm okay," Grace said. There was a grunt, which Chris hoped was Theodore. Otherwise, he might have to believe the worst had happened considering how he was the one the guards thought responsible for the destruction, which he thought was ridiculous. Seriously, after thinking about it, it made no sense at all. If it happened an hour ago, why did the guards only just arrest them? Also, the streets hadn't be

When the explosion first started happening, the only person remaining calm was Theodore. He glanced all around as he kept his ears open for what could be the cause, which was difficult considering all the screaming. It didn't help that the cells next to him contained Bobby and Chris, who seemed to be panicking over the situation. That wasn't to say Grace was calm.In fact, if he could see her, he would see that she was shaking in her boots. However, it was better than listening to the duo shouting and demanding to know what was happening. It was obvious what was going on. The important part was to figure out who was responsible and what they needed to do next. It was unfortunate that he wasn't strong enough to bend the bars of his cell.Another explosion erupted, and this time it came from behind him. Fortunately, he reacted fast enough and was able to defend himself as best he could against it. His arms screamed in pain as he cursed. He could vaguely hear the rest of his party trying

Luke listened to the demon report that his party was still nearby, but they hadn't decided what they were going to do. They didn't have any supplies since they had been forced to run out of the town with their tails between their legs. Even though Luke had intended for that to happen, he still felt guilt that they had no supplies to help them on their way. They could still forage, but that didn't change the fact that they would have to go through a significant change in diet while they decided their next course of action. Well, once he settled matters with the town, he would pay them back for this mess by supplying them with food. Of course, he already had an excuse planned to explain away how he got his hands on the supplies."Is everyone ready?" Luke asked once the demon finished talking. The demons scoffed before saying, "Of course. It's not like we've been waiting for this moment."He would have pointed out that they had been taking turns terrorizing the town in different ways for

Luke thought about what the demon king meant. He must be referring to using more of the demon's system's features. So far, he had used it sparingly to avoid drawing too much attention from the angels. Despite everything they had done to keep the angels from noticing them, he still felt cautious about using it so much in public. The only features he had really used were looking at the quest notifications, going through the slave information, and checking the list of people he had. He hadn't touched any of the other features since the first time he had seen what it had to offer, way back in the beginning, when they had been first summoned there. However, he couldn't see how using the system more would change anything.[That's where you're wrong.]Crossing his arms, Luke said, "Tell me more."[You have already seen the sections regarding slaves, servants, harem members, and an army. A demon king can't truly be called a demon king if he doesn't have demons to rule over. Right now, you hav

"Why are the demons attacking now?" a guard cursed as he tried to fight off a demon. If only those darn heroes had done their job right, then none of them would be in this mess. No, they didn't even deserve to be called heroes. He bet they were the reason why the demons were attacking in the first place. Some people had caught one of the so called heroes working with demons and killing people. Then other witnesses saw the same person escape prison with the help of demons. This was obviously their way of retaliating against the town for rightfully imprisoning them. The thought of those fake heroes made him grit his teeth. Whoever thought to let them in should be punished, but that was only if he had survived. As he finally killed the demon attacking him after much difficulty, he spotted the target of his ire leisurely walking through the town, like people weren't dying because of him."I'll kill you," the guard declared as he launched himself at the fake hero.He didn't even last a sec

    Chapter 389: The End

"The clean up is doing well," 'Kayla' said as she stood before Luke, who was sitting on the throne.Instead of responding to her, he gave a nod before looking to the next person. The corners of his mouth twitched as he wanted to frown. The previous demon king's women were staring at him, waiting patiently for him to finish his work. He didn't know what Mildred said to them, but they were all now convinced that they should try to seduce him.[They are strong women, so you shouldn't have any complaints about adding them to your harem.]Luke was unamused by the demon king's words. He knew very well that Luke hadn't been interested in building a harem. It was really bad enough that he had four women to contend with. Speaking of them, the quartet came walking into the throne room, with Grace taking the lead. She was looking well despite having only recovered yesterday."Luke, are you still in your meeting?" she asked as Tracy, Violet, and Ruth kept to her sides.Standing up, Luke said, "It'

Everyone stared in disbelief. How were they supposed to react to this sudden reveal? They had expected it to be a big deal because of the system's threat, but this was way behind anything they could have imagined. Luke distracted himself from the implications to assess everyone's reactions. Chris's mouth had dropped open while Bobby looked ill.Violet, on the other hand, was doing a good job keeping herself together, though it was just barely. Her fists were clenched, with her nails digging into her palm. Theodore was the only odd one out. He was quickly shocked by the information, but he appeared to be the calmest of the bunch. Luke couldn't decide if that was a good or bad thing as he returned his attention back to the system.Chris ended up being the first to break the silence. Chapter 387: To Go Home or To Stay (1)

Luke couldn't believe it. The creator had actually been telling the truth when they said they could go home if they did enough to entertain them. He should be happy, but he was strangely numb about the reward. Perhaps it was because he had become used to the idea that he would never see his family again. That was why hearing the contrary left him with conflicted feelings."We can go home," Chris said in awe.A quick look at his party members was enough to tell Luke how overjoyed they were at the idea. After Luke had told them it was impossible, they had been resigned to never return back to their family and friends. It was why they had so willingly joined his side and turned their backs on the angels. However, a part of them had hoped that Luke was wrong."I wonder how everyone's been doing," Bobby said.Chris wrapped his arms around him and said, "I can't wait to see everyone."Violet had a soft smile, while Theodore only grunted. It should be a happy moment, but Luke was too used to

It couldn't understand what was happening. The creator could feel itself being torn away from its vessel against its will. This couldn't be happening. It was the creator. Everything went exactly as it wanted. There was no way it could lose to a human that had been originally brought into this world as nothing more than a tool. However, despite its efforts, it was being forced out by the sword in its chest. What was it? It couldn't be an ordinary weapon. Even when it was being injured, it had only been because the creator allowed it. Otherwise, the people wouldn't be able to actually harm it. Reaching out towards Luke and the sword again, it felt the sword pulse. Suddenly, the creator found its unable to move. An invisible force was keeping it from moving. The creator couldn't believe it. Such a thing had never happened before. The only possible reason that the creator could think of was that the sword contained a fragment of its power. However, that couldn't be it. The creator's eyes rolled upward, and he spotted Takisha standing on its neck. Takisha didn't waste a second to bite her teeth in the creator's throat. She grimaced at the vile taste filling her mouth. Considering this was supposed to be the creator possessing a human, she would have thought the blood would taste delicious. Instead, it was probably the most disgusting blood she had ever tasted.Takisha wasn't even sure it was blood. Dirt tasted better than this. However, she focused on injecting her venom into the creator. A shadow loomed over her as the creator raised a hand to rush her. She didn't immediately run, and her faith was rewarded when vines and thorns wrapped around the creator's hand. Blood spilled from where the thorns pierced its skin.Of course, this wasn't enough to stop it for long. The creator ripped free, but its attention had been successfully redirected to Mildred, who unleased several arrows in its direction before running. It deflected them and rushed to crush

The creator was beginning to grow bored. Luke had disappeared off to who knew where, leaving them to deal with the rabble. None of them stood a chance against them. Of course, Luke being there wouldn't have changed much either, but this was supposed to be a game between them. If he wasn't there, then what was the point? They were debating whether they should cut the game short and simply end things when they heard a familiar voice shout, "Move!"Instantly, the creator raised a clawed hand to catch the arrow that had been shot in their direction. Their eyes spotted a familiar dark elf notching another arrow into her bow. So it looked like Luke had rescued the women that they had knocked out. They could have simply killed them and been done with it, but the creator had ultimately decided not to bother.Who would have expected that Luke would go rescue the

"What's this?" Luke muttered as he stared at the emergency quest.Luke never expected the system itself to give out a quest to defeat the creator. He would have thought it would be on their side since it was created by the system. Perhaps it saw the creator as a threat and wanted them to be dealt with. It sent shivers down his spine to see the quest, and he looked up to see that the others in the room were also reading a message from the system."Did you also receive the same quest as me?" he asked, though he already knew the answer."What's this nonsense?" demanded the succubus. "Defeat the creator? I've never heard such a thing.""There has to be a mistake," the dark elf said as she crossed her arms.
