Chapter 67: Resolving the Confrontation

There was a glint in the elderly woman's eyes that Billy couldn't ignore. The old woman was perceptive as always. It was obvious who had the brains between the two elderly people, and Billy didn't need to say who it was. However, that didn't mean he was going to give in without a fight. He narrowed his eyes as he carefully considered his next words.

"I think I have an idea, but I don't want to say it without Jacqueline's permission," he said slowly.

The elderly woman narrowed her eyes. Now he had thrown the ball into Jacqueline's court. If the old woman pushed him to speak, she would be disregarding Jacqueline's feelings on the matter. If Jacqueline refused to give permission and the elderly woman chose to listen to her, then she wouldn't be able to get her answers.

"Don't fight," Jacqueline said. "I'll talk."
