Billy vaguely thought to himself how the elderly woman's words and the current situation would have been heartwarming under different circumstances. Well, he was sure that Jacqueline was really affected by the elderly woman's words. For his part, he felt apathetic about the whole thing. Despite having lived with them for some time, he didn't have the same attachment as Jacqueline.
