Elliott straightened his shoulders and spoke with conviction. "I have done all I can to try to broker peace between the centaurs and the elves. But it is clear that my efforts have been in vain. So I am stepping back from the conflict, and I will allow the officials to handle it from here on out. I will not waste any more of my time or energy on a fruitless endeavor."

The room fell silent, and all eyes were on Elliott. He could feel the weight of their gazes, but he refused to back down. He stood firm in his decision.
