Chapter 25
"Your Majesty," Markus said, his voice shaking with emotion, "I know I have done wrong. I have betrayed your trust, and I have betrayed my own people. But I beg you to listen to me. The nymphs must stop their attacks on the trolls. There has been too much bloodshed already."

Naya stormed into the cavern, her sword glinting in the torchlight. "I knew you would betray me!" she shouted, her eyes blazing with fury. But then she saw Markus, lying on the ground, looking up at her with pleading eyes. "Please," he said, "this has to stop. We're just hurting each other, and it's not getting us anywhere. Can we please just talk?" Naya's anger faltered, and she hesitated, her sword still raised. What would she do?.

"All my life, I've been told that looks are everything," Naya said, her voice faltering. "I've been judged by my appearance, and made to feel like I wasn't good enough. So I tried to live up to those standards, and I pushed everyone else away. I thought it was the only way to be happy,
