Chapter Three: Continuing the journey

After the fight with the bandits, Xander and Lillia made their way through the forest, keeping a careful watch for any signs of danger. As they walked, Xander couldn't help but think back on the battle.

"That was a close one," he said, shaking his head. "I didn't expect to run into trouble so soon."

Lillia nodded, her eyes fixed on the path ahead. "You did well, though. You have a lot of skill."

Xander smiled, feeling a surge of pride at her words. "Thanks. I've had a lot of practice over the years."

They walked in silence for a few moments, then Lillia spoke up again.

"Where are we going, anyway?" she asked, glancing over at him.

Xander shrugged. "I don't really have a plan. I was just wandering, looking for adventure."

Lillia nodded, then looked around at the trees. "Do you think we'll find anything interesting out here?"

Xander grinned. "You never know. There are all sorts of creatures in these woods. And who knows, we might even stumble upon a hidden treasure or two."

Lillia smiled, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "That would be amazing. I've always dreamed of finding treasure."

As they continued on their journey, they soon came across a small village nestled in a clearing in the forest. The villagers looked up as they approached, eyeing them warily.

Xander stepped forward, his hands raised in a gesture of peace.

"We mean no harm," he said. "We're just passing through."

The villagers relaxed slightly at his words, but still looked wary.

"Who are you?" one of them asked, eyeing Xander and Lillia suspiciously.

"My name is Xander," he replied. "And this is Lillia. We're just travelers, looking for a place to stay for the night."

The villager nodded, then gestured towards a nearby inn. "You can stay there. But be warned, we don't take kindly to troublemakers around here."

Xander nodded, then led Lillia towards the inn. As they walked, he couldn't help but think back on their recent battle with the bandits.

"That was a tough fight," he said, his voice low. "I'm just glad we made it out alive."

Lillia nodded, then glanced over at him. "You were amazing, though. I couldn't have done it without you."

Xander smiled, feeling a surge of warmth at her words. "Thanks. But we need to be careful. Who knows what else is out there waiting for us."

As they settled into their room at the inn, Xander couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. He knew that their journey was far from over, and that there were many more challenges waiting for them in the days ahead. But for now, he was content to rest and prepare himself for whatever lay ahead.

As Xander lay down on the bed, he couldn't help but think back on the battle with the bandits, and the events that had transpired afterwards.

He closed his eyes, allowing the memories to wash over him. He remembered the moment he had first seen Lillia, her blue hair falling in soft waves around her face, and her piercing green eyes locked onto his.

He remembered the way her body had felt pressed up against his as they fought together, their movements perfectly synchronized. And he remembered the way her curves had felt under his hands when he had lifted her up and carried her away from danger.

A small smile played at the corners of his lips as he thought about her. He couldn't deny that he was drawn to her in a way he had never felt before. There was something about her spirit and her strength that made him feel alive.

But he also knew that he had to be careful. He had been hurt before, and he didn't want to risk getting hurt again.

As he lay there lost in thought, Lillia stirred next to him.

"Xander," she said softly, her voice sleepy. "Are you alright?"

Xander opened his eyes and turned to look at her. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just lost in thought."

Lillia sat up and looked at him. "About what?"

Xander hesitated for a moment, then decided to be honest. "About you. And about what happened earlier, with the bandits."

Lillia's eyes widened. "Oh. I see."

Xander sat up as well, facing her. "I just wanted to say thank you, for helping me out back there. You were amazing."

Lillia smiled, a faint blush rising to her cheeks. "You were pretty amazing too. I couldn't have done it without you."

There was a brief silence between them, then

The next morning, Xander woke up early and packed his things. He knew he couldn't stay in the village forever, and he had to keep moving if he wanted to find his destiny.

Lillia woke up soon after, and they had breakfast together. As they ate, Xander could sense that Lillia was a bit sad.

"What's wrong?" he asked, looking at her with concern.

Lillia sighed. "I'm going to miss you, Xander. I know we just met, but there's something about you that I can't ignore. I feel like we were meant to meet, and I don't want to lose you."

Xander felt a pang of guilt in his chest. He didn't want to hurt Lillia, but he knew he couldn't stay with her forever. He had his own mission to complete.

"I'll come back," he said softly. "I promise. I don't know when, but I'll come back. And until then, you have to promise me that you'll take care of yourself, and not get into any trouble."

Lillia smiled through her sadness. "I promise. And I'll be waiting for you, Xander. I know you'll find your destiny, and when you do, I hope you'll share it with me."

Xander felt a surge of emotion as he looked at her. He had never met anyone like Lillia before, and he knew he would miss her too. But he couldn't let his feelings get in the way of his mission.

"I will," he said, his voice low. "I promise."

They finished breakfast, and Xander gathered his things. He turned to Lillia, and held out his hand.

"Goodbye, Lillia."

Lillia took his hand, and held it tightly. "Goodbye, Xander. Be safe, and come back soon."

With a final squeeze, Xander let go of her hand and walked away. He didn't look back, but he could feel her eyes on him as he disappeared into the distance.

As he walked, he felt a sense of sadness and regret. He knew he had to keep moving forward, but he couldn't help but wonder what could have been, if he had stayed with Lillia.

But he couldn't dwell on those thoughts. He had a destiny to fulfill, and he couldn't let anything get in his way. So he walked on, his eyes fixed on the horizon, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
