CH. 396: THE BOLD INTERN.

The next day, William attended the conference. William found the meeting much more interesting than he had anticipated.

Before the meeting began at all, William found the attendants belittling him with the subtlest of behavior. Whenever they conversed with him, walked by him, or even so much as glanced at him, William could tell that they did these simple actions with a layer of disdain towards him.

“These bold fools.” Mike Barathea, who had followed William to the conference as his assistant as instructed by the McArthur patriarch, was getting pissed at these not-so-passive behaviors directed at them. “They know full well that we hold the tongue of the great McArthur family and yet, they still dare treat us with such underhanded means.”
