Billiard nodded once he saw this. “William, as the true heir to the empire, you have now been granted access to twenty percent of the family’s treasure vaults across the various banks in the world.”
William whipped his head up so fast, that his neck made a sharp crack. “What?!” He only got another head nod from his grandfather and he waited until all the notifications had completely popped up before he went through each one. "Grandpa, these are welcome messages from over forty banks across the continent!"
Mike remained standing with his usual calm demeanor. “Do you recognize any of these bank names, Young Master?”
William nodded as he kept going through the notifications to find there were all welcome messages. “Of course I do! These are some of the biggest banks in the world, and they are all congratulating me on my access to the McArthur vault.” He turned his head to look at his grandfather. “Is this what I think it is?”
“What do you think this is about?” Billiard had a mischievous expression on his face. He wanted his grandson to figure it out himself.
“I’ve just been granted access to the family vault!” William couldn’t contain his excitement. “This means I can go into any of these forty vaults and take whatever I need!”
Billiard nodded with a smirk. “It’s one of the perks of being the true heir.”
William scrolled through the bank names once again. "One of the banks is even the elite-class Bel Air Bank! That's near the university!" He was feeling overwhelmed once again. He had truly gone from having 'empty hands' to having 'full loads' of power that he currently didn't know what to do with it.
"That's right," Billiard confirmed his grandson's words. "If you ever find yourself with an insufficient bank account, you can easily head to any of these banks, and once you show them that key, you will be given access to the vault. There, you have no restrictions on the amount you can take out for whatever you need."
“Whooo!” William could no longer keep calm as he jumped into the air with so much excitement. He knew being the heir to the McArthur Empire would eventually give him access to the personal accumulation of wealth, he just didn't expect it to be anytime soon; and yet, it hadn't even been a day since he signed the inheritance and he already has so much wealth; this was simply unbelievable.
“Grandpa, are you sure about this?! This is unrestricted access to billions you’re giving me!”
“It’s mere hundreds of billions of dollars, William.” Billiard pointed at the excited young man. “Don’t forget; you’re the McArthur heir.”
William nodded with a brimming smile. Despite being the sons of a billionaire, the Camillo twins merely had access to tens of millions of dollars. The same could be said for his best friend, Andre Leverque, who was also the son of a billionaire. Currently, William's personal wealth not only left his three peers far behind, but it could also easily contend with both their fathers' amassed wealth. He couldn't help jumping about like a kid who has been overdosed on sugar.
“Alright, boy, settle down.” Billiard gestured for the young man to take his seat once again. “I understand your excitement over your new wealth, but this is the best time to inform you that there are strict conditions that you have to follow as the McArthur heir.”
This news quickly calmed William down and he paid attention. “What are the conditions, Grandpa?”
Billiard raised a finger. "The first: you have to return to Bel Air University immediately and perform your possible best to graduate with excellent results. No heir of mine will take over my empire as a drop-out." He raised a second finger. "From now on, you will attend a bi-weekly private class where you will be tested on your application of wisdom and discretion when engaged in dealings in the business world. This is very important as it will build your impressionable attitude when it's time to reveal yourself to the world. The speed of your development in this class would show me you're truly capable of upholding the family name."
William understood well what his grandfather meant. Even though he had a strong knowledge of the business world, it didn't mean he was competent in the practical aspect. It is well known that people of higher status rarely follow the rules. Therefore, taking this class will help him navigate any kind of trouble he might find himself in when he takes over the empire.
Billiard raised a third finger. “I have decided that it’s best to wait on publicizing your status to the world before anyone knows your true identity, therefore, you are required to lead two separate lives from now on. You have your school life where you will be known to the world as William Chain, not William McArthur. Then on the other end, you have your hidden life as the McArthur heir where you’ll fall under my tutelage as my apprentice as I give you first-hand teaching in leading the McArthur family affairs and business.”
William understood the purpose of his last name being changed. He had been too little when he lost his biological father, Derek Chain. After Sarah got married to Woodruff Camillo, his surname was changed before he gained admission into the university. Now that he had no ties to the Camillo family, it only made sense to take on his dead father’s name once again, thus, he could conveniently keep his ties to the McArthur a secret.
“I understand, Grandpa. It’s best I take on my biological father’s surname for now.”
"Don't worry about the formalities, Young Master," Mike spoke up. "I have reached out to trusted contacts who have handled the formal change to your registry. I assure you that no one would find anything suspicious."
“Head butler Mike, your diligence is simply astonishing!” William looked at Billiard. “What about my wealth then? Do I have to pretend like I’m poor?”
“No. You’re allowed to showcase your wealth as you see fit. I believe you’re more than intelligent enough to caution your behavior and not allow the money to control you.” Billiard showed his trust in William’s ability.
“Thank you, Grandpa. Are there any other conditions?”
“Just one more.” Billiard raised the fourth finger. "Bear in mind that you will be given certain assignments at random times, and your delivery will show me who you are as a McArthur."
William raised a brow. “What does that even mean?”
“It’s alright if you don’t understand it right now.” Billiard quickly dismissed his grandson’s confusion.
William was contemplating what the old man could possibly have planned for him when a realization crossed his mind. “School!” He lurched from his seat as he stared at the two older men with a horrified gaze. “Guys, how can I possibly return to the university when I’ve been expelled?!”
“Oh, right! I knew I was forgetting something.” Billiard glanced at Mike. “Bring me my phone; it’s high time that foolish Vice chancellor heard from me.”
William slowly tilted his head forward when he heard this. “Grandpa, what are you going to do?”
William couldn’t help it and his heart began racing. He watched as Mike brought out a separate phone to dial a number before placing it on the desk. The repeated loud rings made it clear that the phone had been put on speaker and William could hear all that was going on. The ringing tone didn’t take up to five seconds before the call was quickly answered. “H..Hello, Good afternoon, Mr. McArthur. How m…may I help you?” William was in shock as he soon realized this was the Bel Air University's VC who was speaking on the phone. His heart raced even faster as he wondered why the McArthur patriarch was calling this man. He could hear the barely contained heavy breathing coming from the VC, as he was stuttering a lot, which made William deduce that the VC not only knew who Billiard McArthur was, but he was also scared of him. “Roman Brakovic, this is Mike Barathea, the head butler of the McArthur Estate. You’re currently on the phone with my master.” Despite things being obvious, Mike s
William looked up with a stunned gaze when he found the brooding state his grandfather was in as he spoke to the VC on the phone. Just from their expressions, he could tell that both Billiard and Mike were deeply angered by the things Roman Brakovic had said about him and his mother. His heart welled with gratitude as he reminded himself that he hadn't only obtained a massive wealth, but he now also had true family members who would fight for him whenever he was wronged. He reminded himself that he was no longer alone.Meanwhile, Roman's voice had become panicked at this point. After Billiard's straightforward threat, he knew he would lose everything if he told one more lie. "I'm deeply sorry for everything I said about William Chain, Mr. McArthur! To be honest, most of what I told you just now was what had been reported to me.""And as the Vice Chancellor of the university, you didn't think to investigate the matter before making your judgments. Are you telling me you would rather m
“You heard me.” William’s remained resolute in his demand. “Did you not realize how humiliating it is to have me expelled in that manner? My name had been tarnished since every student on campus now believes that I truly stole Wilson’s wristwatch.” There was fury on Ramon’s face as he stared at the confident expression on William’s face. If not for the fact that he had been ordered by Mr. McArthur, of all people, he would have never entertained the thought of trying to meet this poverty-stricken young man’s demand. He was sure the only reason the McArthurs wanted William’s expulsion revoked was because he was an exceedingly brilliant student and that family loved supporting those who are worth it. Either way, it meant that he had to be careful to not make William angry in any way. Ramon Brakovic wiped his face with frustration. “Very well, I will ensure I make a public apology to you as long as you promise to resume classes immediately.” "I accept." William's expression remained pl
Andre Leverque was losing his mind. It has been five days since he saw William last, which was when he had been dragged and locked out of the campus following his sudden expulsion. By the time he had made it past the gate to go check on his best friend, William had already entered a taxi and zoomed off. Knowing William, he could only imagine the amount of self-pity the young man was drowning in. He had always prioritized his education, so much that he had endured the bully and humiliation from people like the Camillo twins who just loved to make William’s life miserable.Andre had dialed William's phone number after he had taken that taxi, except William wouldn't pick up his calls; he was left with no choice but to leave multiple voicemails. By the next morning, he couldn't even reach William at all as his phone was now switched off and the twenty-five-year-old man never came home. It was at this point he began to get really worried. The fact that William didn't take a single call of
The temperature in the room rose up a few degrees as the mood in the air went from sour to romantic in seconds. It has to be known that while Tracy is the youngest child and only daughter of Woodruff Camillo, Andre is an only child to an investment banker who is also a billionaire so the pair was matched in wealth. Also, while the twenty-two-year-old Tracy Camillo is known as one of the highest ranking beauty goddesses of Bel Air University, along with Ayra Brown, Andre has always been a tall and handsome dark-skinned man with a look that gets a lot of girls vying for his attention. It's just that he was an introverted gamer who would behave coldly towards those he was not friends with. There was also the fact that he was super close with William, who most of them hate, thus, making him less approachable. As the pair stared at each other, Andre was enamored by Tracy’s beauty while Tracy couldn’t help but quiver beneath Andre’s intense gaze. Before either realized what they were doi
“Beat that nerdy boy up!” Tracy was left in utter shock as the bouncers wasted no time in punching and kicking Andre as he lay on the floor. “What are you doing to him?! Get off of him!” She was about to rush over when someone grabbed her by the waist. “Don’t ruin the fun, little sis!” The high Wilson had caught her sister, smiling evilly as he and his friends watched Andre get beat up. “No, let me go, Wilson!” Tracy’s attempt to escape from his older brother’s iron-like grip was futile. Her eyes widened in fear as she could see the heavy punches on Andre had caused him to start bleeding; his mouthy was now dyed the crimson of his own blood. Despite having a toned muscle and a six-foot-tall body, Andre had never been a fighter. He had crumbled to the ground as soon as one of the bouncers punched him in the left eye. He could taste blood in his mouth as the three massively built men didn't relent in brutally kicking him either. He never expected the Camillo twins would dare call an
The woman finally let go of Wilson's hand as he fell to the ground; he was left grunting in so much pain."Bro, that bitch dislocated my arm!" Wilson looked back at Donald with teary eyes. He had gone from a macho man to a crybaby in seconds.Donald also became furious at the sight of his younger twin and he glared at the three bouncers. “Are you three dumb or what?! I don’t recall paying you to just stand there and stare like fools! Get them!” He pointed at the young man and woman who remained calm.Everyone watched as the three bouncers ran toward the two strangers only to be taken down when five more men and three women rushed into the VIP room. The scene had turned chaotic for half a minute and everyone was left in shock.“What the actual fuck?! Where did these people come from?!” Ayra was screaming her lungs out as she could see that there were now eleven strange men and women in the VIP room.Seeing this, all of Wilson and Donald’s male friends in the VIP room had gotten up in a
Andre stared at his best friend's face with astonishment. "William, is that you?!"William held a gamepad as he was in the middle of a soccer match on Ander's PES5"I was a bit disappointed to find out you haven't touched your game since I was gone. That's not like you at all."“My god, dude!” Andre let out in whispers as relief washed through him. He removed his arm from Abigail’s neck and he began limping towards William.William quickly got up and helped Andre as he was about to fall. His smile froze as he looked at the bruises and serious injuries on Ander’s body. “Dude, what the hell happened to you?!” He turned a serious stare at Abigail. “Explain this.”“Yes, Sir!” Abigail stood at attention and her group followed her movement. “My team and I followed the pinned location we were given and we ended up at an establishment called The Sand Club. Then we…..”William kept stern eyes on his head bodyguard as she narrated everything she had witnessed at the club.Meanwhile, Andre stared
