Chapter 11 - Daily quest

Awakened!

They were the last ray of hope that guarded humanity against the monsters and dungeons.

Though they started to awaken irregularly after the great disaster, there were too many unanswered questions about them.

How did they get their power? what were the conditions to get that power? and how can they become strong? there were just too many questions to list.

But after long and tedious research, scientists have managed to answer some of them.

How did the awakened get their power?

It was due to the presence of mana which was previously absent on the Earth before the great disaster.

And about their power...Except for some rare cases that happened once in a while, most humans would awaken as an F rank, but the power of an individual would differ largely based on the skills they would awaken.

Normally, an average awakened would have two normal skills and the strong awakeners would have two normal skills in addition to a single special skill.

The people with special skills were all those who in the future would become the pillars of humanity, it was to the point that only a handful among millions of people would awaken with special skills.

But even more than the special skills there was another thing that measured the worth of an Awakened.

Potential!

Using the ability stone of the S-class monster that was once defeated with the help of seven S-rank awakeners all over the world, It was made possible to see the potential of the awakeners.

An awakened could become a star overnight if he had strong potential! It was because when an individual is awakened, he will gain the ability to continuously grow without any restrictions.

Theoretically speaking each and every individual would be able to grow to a minimum of S-rank if they grow continuously, but that wasn't what was happening in the world.

He said without even turning to look back at her.

Though Linda was surprised by his claim, she immediately went ahead to do her job.

Now that he had the protection of the earth's strongest man, he ought to use that to his best abilities.

Though he could have found ways to raid dungeons and get stronger without anyone knowing, it would be much better and easy if he do it openly, besides...

"I have to show some development to father-in-law"

It was too early for him to leave Taylor's side, and now that he had the protection of Vincent Taylor, he ought to thoroughly milk him dry.

so he decided to register as an awakened in the nearest awakened center.

The awakened exam was an exam that could be taken monthly, on the 15th and last day of the month, it can be taken anytime but only twice a month on these two dates.

There was still a week left to the Awakened exam, so Roger decided to train in the meantime.
