23. Unexpected Connection

In the police car, Warrick remained silent as he stared at the system window notifying him that he had completed the quest.

He stayed calm even when he arrived at the police station, leaving the officers confused.

"You know you've made a big mistake, right?" a police sergeant interrogated Warrick, brandishing a baton stick.

Warrick gave a nod. "I was wrong to beat those people, but they provoked me into doing it."

"What did they do to you?"

"They have been insulting me for years. I couldn't just stand there while they mocked me and called me useless."

Another officer chuckled. "But what they said is true. You were cast aside by the Rauveron and Vernidras families because you're useless!"

Warrick clenched his fists but managed to resist the urge to strike the officer.

"Are you arresting me just to insult me? If so, you should release me."

Shawn, the sergeant with the baton, scowled at Warrick's words. He pressed his baton against Warrick's neck as a warning of his authority.
