Chapter 5
Damon watched with his wide-eyed, as the hotel workers’ trembled and the tension in the air thickened. Damon slowly walked over to Vivan and whispered close enough for her to hear, “Forget about them. I’m used to this treatment anyway…” The woman named Vivan looked at him as she felt an ache in her heart. She could feel the bitterness and helplessness in Damon’s words, along with a subtle hint of his inferiority complex. The manager immediately rushed over, bowing his head in contrition. “Please, ma’am, we’re sorry. We’ll make sure it doesn’t happen again.” Vivan, still taken aback by the scene, straightened her posture and fixed her gaze on the trembling staff. “You should treat all guests with respect. No one deserves to be made to feel small,” she asserted. "Miss Bennett!" The manager came running towards the scence in tremble, "this is entirely our fault. I’ll discipline her in due time. Please accept our heartfelt apologies,” The manager pleaded sincerely before turning to the workers in annoyance, "How dare you cause a scene? do you know how she is?" The workers instantly trembled and started to slap themselves even harder, “we are sorry. we are so, so sorry…” They slapped themselves with each apology until the corners of their mouth started to bleed. “Apologize to my friend!” Vivan ordered coldly. “Of course, of course… we are sorry, Sir. we were wrong…” The workers do not seem to care anymore that Damon was a beggar and immediately knelt in front of him to apologize. His hatred toward the workers started to manifest. He needed to make sure that they did not continue acting like that in the future. She might have been let off the hook on that occasion, but allowing her to continue with her shenanigans would eventually spell doom for him too! Get up! Since my friend has elected to forgive you, I will agree to give you one more chance. I hope you’ll learn to shape up in the future!” Vivan snorted coldly. She was capable of forgiving when the situation called for it. After all, she never liked using her identity to oppress others, and she did not want to argue with some insignificant people. “Thank you, Miss Bennett. Thank you, Sir…” The workers was finally brave enough to stand up, for she felt as if she was just granted a pardon. However, the clothes on her back were already soaked in cold sweat. “I assure you ma'am, this will be handled promptly.” The Manger continued, “ I’ll have a VIP room booked for you and your guest immediately.” “Make it two VIP rooms,” she ordered, her tone still icy. “I want them both prepared.” The manager swallowed hard, his demeanor shifting as he scrambled to comply. “Of course, ma’am. Right away,” he said, bowing slightly before rushing off, clearly shaken by her commanding presence. Damon’s head spun. This woman, whoever she was, commanded respect without lifting a finger. He felt a strange mix of gratitude and confusion. “Let’s go, Damon" Starprize suite was one of the most famous, upscale villas in Springfield City. Mountains and rivers surrounded the area and blessed it with exceptionally beautiful scenery. Those who could afford to live there had to be rich and famous, muses of business tycoons, or those whose reputations were synonymous with elegance and luxury. And Vivan had just booked a two vip Suites with high amount for both of them Damon wanted to open his mouth to protest, but he couldn’t. He just followed Vivan, still trying to process everything that had just unfolded. Her aura of authority, combined with her compassion, left him both impressed and unsettled. He had never met anyone quite like her—someone who could stand up for him and still remain poised and graceful As they stepped into the grand lobby of the Starprize Suite, Damon couldn't help but marvel at the luxurious surroundings. Crystal chandeliers hung from the ceiling, their light refracting into rainbows that danced across the polished marble floors. The air smelled faintly of lavender, adding to the place's opulence. Vivan walked ahead, her heels clicking softly on the floor. She stopped at the front desk, where the staff greeted her with utmost respect. “Miss Bennett, your suites are ready,” the receptionist announced, handing over two keycards with a deep bow. “If there’s anything you need, please don’t hesitate to let us know.” Vivan took the keycards, handing one to Damon. “This is yours,” she said, her tone softer now. "Thank you, but you don’t have to..." “Damon,” she interrupted, her eyes locking onto his with quiet determination. “I want to. Consider it a gift.” Damon sighed, unsure of how to respond. The last thing he wanted was to feel like a burden, but he also knew arguing with her was futile. He let out a awkward smile smile, "I’ll return the money you spent on my rent when I’ve earned some money…” Vivan smiled in return and did not take his words to heart as they walk out of the Elevator. "I was able to recover your bag form the men who stole it. It is with me, I will have my men bring it go you as soon as you settle in." Damon’s Eyes lit up in surprise, his bag which he thought was stolen was about to be brought back? he knew he didn't have much asset. However, his School certificate, his work promotion, his ID card, And every meaningful thing he had strived to get was inside that bag and now he was going to get it back. “You’re a lifesaver, Thank you!" Damon smiled feeling so calm around her, as they git to the front of the suite.“Who were those men last night? The ones who... beat you up?” she asked with a hint of curiosity evident in her eyes as they walk into the grand room. Damon stiffened at the question as the memory of the brutal encounter all came resurfacing in his mind. He had been trying to avoid thinking about it, but Vivan’s Directness made it impossible to ignore “They were... I don’t know,” he muttered, running a hand through his hair. “Just a few guys I crossed paths with. They were hired, I think. I don’t know who.” “Hired?” Vivan asked with a chuckle as she sat on the bed, “Don't play Dumb with me Damon!” Vivan had remembered their faces vividly, he had remembered their words telling Damon they were sent by someone named Tyler, a person Damon seemed to know his identity. Damon gulped at her intense gaze, he hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. He knew so well that she could see behind his masks of lies but he wasn’t used to opening up, especially not to someone like Vivan, who se
The next day, the sun rose, casting a warm glow through the curtains. Damon turned and tossed on the bed, he had spent most of the night tossing and turning; he couldn't help but keep thinking about Vivan—the way she looked at him, her voice, her presence—they all made Damon blush. There was something about her—something he couldn’t quite pin down—and it left him feeling restless. He slowly rose from the king-sized bed in the suite. He needed to take a bath so he would look presentable at the very least. As he grabbed a towel, ready to enter the bathroom, he heard a knock on the door. He wondered who it could be and slowly walked over to open the door. When he opened it, a young man stood there holding a familiar black bag. “Your bag, sir. I was instructed by my boss to give it to you,” the man said in a curt tone. Damon's eyes lit up with joy. Vivan had remembered to deliver his bag—she indeed was a lifesaver. He quickly accepted it, murmuring a quick “Thanks” before closi
Damon blinked, utterly flabbergasted by Klaus's Statement. The offer was definitely tempting for someone who has absolutely no money. But regardless, he wouldn't accept the money no matter how tempting it sounded. Accepting it would mean admitting Klaus was right about him, and Damon wasn’t about to stoop that low—not for money, not for anyone.“I appreciate the offer, sir,” Damon said carefully, “But I’m not for sale. And just so we’re clear, I’m not here for Vivan’s money or anything else you seem to think.”Klaus narrowed his eyes, scrutinizing Damon as if searching for a crack in his resolve. When he didn’t find one, he scoffed. “Your pride will only take you so far, young man. Men like you—”“Dad, enough!” Vivan interrupted, “please stop! You’ve done more than enough damage for one day. If you can’t respect my choices, then please, leave us alone.”Klaus walked closer to vivan in fury, he looked at vivan in disgust from head to toe, “I am doing what's best for you Vivan, Everythi
Damon paced around the room, feeling impatient. It had been hours since the scandal happened, and he worried about Vivan. The hurt in her eyes, her trembling lips—everything. She had come from a rich family, but one thing was sure and obvious to Damon: she didn’t exactly have a happy family. Damon wondered if she was fine as he paced around the room in worry. He glanced at his phone again and saw no missed calls or messages from Vivan. He knew there was a probability that Vivan could have gotten his phone number from his bag, and yet he saw no call. He ran his hand through his hair in frustration. Goddamn it. He was going to speak to her. He was going to make sure she was okay—the same way she had done for him. The argument with Klaus had been explosive, and Damon knew how deeply it had hurt her. Vivan had asked for space, but he couldn’t shake the image of her trembling lips and teary eyes. She had been there for him, supporting him. Now it was his turn. Stepping into the hote
Damon softened his gaze as he watched Vivan struggle to keep her composure. He could see the struggle and pain in her eyes, and he could relate perfectly, having experienced family drama and the urge to meet your loved ones expecting. He couldn’t let her go, not like this—in this state. “Vivan,” he called firmly as he stood up. “I’m driving you. You’re not in the right state to be behind the wheel.” Vivan looked up at him, feeling exhausted. “I can drive myself. I don’t need anyone holding my hand.” Damon took a step closer to her. “I’m not here to hold your hand. I’m here to make sure you get there safely. You’re not thinking clearly, and I won’t let you drive like this.” Her lips trembled, and for a moment, she seemed to consider his words. Her hand fell to her lap, and she let out a small, frustrated sigh. “Fine,” she muttered as she ran her hand through her hair. Vivan tossed the car keys to him, and he instantly grabbed them before they both walked out of the door and left
Damon kept a sympthatic gaze at Vivan as she paced around in fear and anxiety. He knew this moment was crucial for her, she needed somone by her side, someone to give her all the support she could get right now and he was the ready to provide that for her at the moment. After what like an eternity the door came out of the operating room room with a chart, it looks like Klaus’s chart, and health record. As soon as vivan saw him, she hurriedly ran to him impatiently, “Doc, how is my Dad?” She asked as anxiety cried in. "Miss Vivan?" he called. "We’ve stabilized your father, but I need to talk to you. It's important." He said as he gestured for him to follow her to his office. Vivan’s heart lurched as she followed the doctor down the quieter corridor along with Damon. As soon as they got to his office, vivan asked "Is he going to be okay?" Vivan asked. The doctor hesitated before speaking. "We’ve managed to control his vitals for now, but there’s something you need to know
Her eyes, with a hint of hope, filled her face. “What do you mean? The doctor said there’s no cure, Damon. What could possibly help now?”Damon hesitated. He knew how far-fetched it sounded, but he couldn’t keep the idea to himself. “There’s a treatment… or rather, an experimental therapy. It’s not something most doctors would suggest because it’s still in its trial stages, but I’ve heard of cases where it worked.”Her brows furrowed in confusion. “What kind of treatment? And why wouldn’t the doctor mention it?”“Because it’s not mainstream,” Damon admitted. “It is an experimental medicine. A mix of targeted immunotherapy and some… unconventional techniques. There’s a doctor I’ve heard about—Dr. Nathan Steele. He’s known for taking on cases like your dad’s. He doesn’t play by the usual rules, but he’s made miracles happen.”Vivian’s heart raced at the prospect of a miracle. “Why didn’t you tell me this before?” she demanded with frustration and hope as she stood to her feet.“I… I… It
Vivian sat by her father’s bedside, her hands trembling as they gripped his. Never had she thought that her father had such an illness he had been secretly battling. Her heart broke even more when she thought of how much she had hurt him by storming into his office today.Tears welled in her eyes as she buried her face into the bed, feeling heartbroken. The only sound that could be heard was Vivian’s little sobs and the beeping sound of the machine.“Viv…” Klaus’s weak voice called, barely above a whisper. She slowly raised her head to see her father as he slowly opened his eyes. “I’m here, Dad,” she said, her voice breaking as she leaned closer. “I’m right here.”He tried to smile but didn’t have the strength. “My strong girl.”Her chest tightened, and she shook her head. The dam of emotions she’d been holding back broke, and tears spilled down her face.“Why didn’t you tell me?” she asked, her voice trembling. “Why didn’t you tell me you were this sick? You let it get this far, and
