Chapter 8

Andrew raised his head slightly after he beheld the profile before him. Right before him was a moment he could determine the fate of those that had indeed dealt with him.

“Sir! Would you like to have anything since today is your first?” She asked him.

He glanced at her. “No! You don't need to bother yourself. You can take your leave now,” he said to her.

“Okay!” She left his presence immediately.

Andrew removed Clarke's profile. He laid it aside. He kept checking through the resumes of other people to see who was best for the job.

After a few minutes of a thorough, none of them beat the profile of a young man. Andrew saw excellence in his profile.

“I will definitely go for this person!” He thought in his head.

Andrew intentionally didn't pick Clarke due to what he had undergone in his hand.

Andrew called Clara to his office.

Clara stood on her feet. She walked in a rush to his office.

Getting into his door, she closed it right behind her, she drew close.

Andrew looked up. Their eyes met.

“Sir! You sent for me!” She said after a moment of stare.

Andrew nodded his head. “Yes! This is the profile I picked for the Norwiny project,” he said to her, tossing the profile to her.

Clara's eye was met with shock and a bit of confusion. To her, the decision he made was wrong. The company had always given Clarke all their projects to handle.

Now, Clarke would be really mad if he found out he wasn't the one picked. In order to save the trouble coming, she said to him, “You picked a wrong profile sir!”

Andrew was taken aback by that statement. He looked at her at once, “what do you mean with that statement?” He questioned her.

Clara's heart raced heavily against her chest. “Don't be mad, sir! In this company, we have the people we always pick for this kind of project,” she notified him.

Andrew shrunk his eyes, that was the first time he would be hearing that. “Oh! Tell me who are these set of people you give your projects to,” he said to her, wanting to hear what she had to say.

“Okay, the Clarke's have always been the people we apportion this kind of project to. We believe they have the capacity and the intellectual capability to do it,” she explained to him.

Andrew whirled his eyes leftwards. “This time things will be different! Do you understand?” He said to her.

Clara didn't get to reply hurriedly, then Andrew faced her at once.

Clara nodded her head. “Okay sir! I will call this person for an open meeting,” she said to him.

Andrew nodded his head. “Excellent!”

She walked out of his office at once.

Clara got to her office. She was surprised that Andrew didn't give Clarke the project. 'What might have been the problem and why did he decide to pick someone strange?’ a lot of questions bottled her mind but it was by far difficult to be answered.

Clara shook it off, she picked up the profile Andrew said was the best. She started checking it through.

“Wow! This profile is indeed the best. This person would be more capable!” She gave accolades in her thoughts.

After a thorough check, she picked up her phone and dialed the number that was on the profile.

“Hello, Mr Roland!” She said to him.

“Hello! Good afternoon” he replied.

“This is the Merchant Age group of company. Your profile is alluring and we have decided to move further with you on this project,” she said to him.

“Thank you!”

“So, come to the company, we will commence the meeting soon,” she said to him.

“Okie! I will be with you shortly,” he said to her.

She hanged the call.

Excitement filled the air. Roland was just too happy to have gotten a consideration from the company.

He went to dress himself up immediately.

Clara stood on her feet, she walked into Andrew's office.

Andrew raised his head at once. His attention was drawn towards the sound.

“Good that you are here, set up a meeting with the Clarke's and the company I picked earlier,” he said to her.

“Okay! I will just inform the Clarke's about the schedule,” she said to him.

Andrew was taken aback. “Have you set up a meeting already?” He asked her.

“Yes! For the evening, because you have a meeting with the stakeholders,” she explained to him.

“I know that. Is it not time for me to meet them already?” He asked her.

She glanced at the watch on her wrist. “It's time, sir!” She alerted.

Andrew didn't say another word. He stood on his feet.

“Follow me!” He said to her.

Clara knew she was going to be with him, so it wasn't something new.

They walked out of his office. Clara shut his door and then they proceeded to the meeting ground.

Getting to the meeting ground, he walked in at once. He saw people of different sizes seated.

Andrew could recognise one of them. He had known him as a wealthy man. He was surprised he was part of the stakeholders.

“My father is indeed rich,” he thought in his head.

Then he took his seat at once.

Clara joined in. She took her seat at once.

“Mr Andrew, congratulations on being the CEO of this great company. I am sorry I haven't come in person to greet you. This is our first time of meeting,” he said to him.

Andrew glanced at him. “Thank you! Introduce yourself,” he said with a bit of pride.

“My bad! My name is Mr Rick, I am representing the De Wild group of company,” he said aloud.

“Oh! Good! Nice meeting you all. This is our first stakeholders meeting. I want to use this medium to bring my agenda on board in order for this company to progress,” he said to them.

“Okay! Mr Andrew, the floor is yours!”

He glanced at the man that said that. He removed his eyes, allowing a gentle breeze escape his slightly opened lip.

“As I was saying before he interrupted, my agenda for this company is ….” He started expatriating it to all of them.

They were all ears. After some minutes of explanations, they were all surprised at his eloquent speech and wonderful presentation.

“I love this idea that you bring on board!” He said to him.

Andrew knew his idea was by far the best.

“Why is that chair empty?” He asked at once.

Everybody's attention was called to it.

“That chair is for Mr Clarke's, he is one of the stakeholders of this noble company,” she explained to him.

“Okay! Where is he?” He asked immediately.

“Something came up sir,” she said to him.

Andrew nodded his head. “Okay! Whenever he is around, tell him to meet me in the office. I don't think we need him as one of the stakeholders again,” he said coldly to the hearings of all the stakeholders.

They were surprised. They knew who Clarke was. They believed Clarke's exit from the company wouldn't be making any sense.

“Sir! You can't let Clarke out of the company,” other stakeholders started speaking on his behalf.

Andrew stood on his feet. He glanced at each of them, “I am done with this meeting. What I said earlier is my verdict,” he said to all of them and highlighted from the meeting room.

Everybody was shocked to their bones. Clara was so surprised that she almost couldn't believe he would do or say such a thing.

“I hope he knows what he is doing. Acting on an impulse is not really a good thing,” the stakeholders said to his secretary.

“I will take my leave now!” She took her leave at once.

Soon, Clarke walked into the company. He checked his watch, and realized he was late.

“Damn! Upon my preparations, it shouldn't have been like this,” he was so unhappy about it.

Soon, he arrived at the stakeholders meeting room. Some of the stakeholders were still present.

Getting in, one of the members of the stakeholders walked up to him, “Mr Clarke you are for this meeting,” he said to him.

“Something actually came up,” he said, trying to give an excuse.

“I personally don't know what you did wrong to the owner of the company. He wanted to have you removed from the stakeholders and you know I had that means,” he passed the message.

Clarke was shocked on hearing that. “Have me removed, on what basis?” He became furious.

“Don't charge towards me. Go and see him in his office,” he said to him.

“I will do that right away. My wife is outside, let me speak to her.” Clarke stormed out of the stakeholders meeting room in anger.

He walked out of the company to see his wife. “Baby! There is a problem,” he said to her.

His wife was surprised. She got serious at once. “What issue is it?” She asked him.

“The new CEO wants to remove me from the shareholders,” he said to her.

“What! Why will the new CEO do such a thing?” She questioned him.

“I don't know, but that's what the other stakeholders are talking about. What battles me is that he has no ground for this,” he said to her.

“Go and see the CEO. Try to sort the issues out. You and I know the meaning of being stripped from the stakeholders,” she said to him.

“Wait for me here, I will be back!’ Clarke excused her immediately. He walked through the company and soon, he got to Clara's office.

“Mrs Clara, good day!” He greeted her.

“Welcome Mr Clarke. Why did you miss the stakeholders meeting?” She asked him.

“I went to attend to something urgent. Anyways, is the CEO in?” He asked further.

“Yes. But wait let me ask if you can go in,” she replied positively.

Clarke had to wait so she could make the call.

“Hello, sir! Mr Clarke is around, should I let him in?’ she asked him.

“Let him in,” Andrew replied positively. A grimace of a dark smile hovered through his face.

“Now is the time to make him suffer!” He concluded in his thought.

Clarke walked to his door, opening up, he walked in.

Clarke was shocked at the sight of whom he beheld, “what! What are you doing here?Andrew!”
