Controlling Arrows

The village chief of Chosei village was fearful of the army from Tsurui in front of him. He was following Tajima’s orders, but even he himself couldn’t help but get doubtful.

Even though he was the one sending the orders, he had no idea whether the orders were being received by the archer units or have they had already been killed.

As the men from the Tsurui Village walked forward, they seemed to be in high morale and had absolutely no idea about what had happened to their 200 men. One hundred eighty-five were killed, and 15 have been captured.

Naturally, thinking that his men had destroyed those vexing archer units. He had a great mood.

He was finally standing in front of the Chosei Village forces. The Chosei Village forces were 213 in number, including the 40 archers.

With a grin on his face, he says, “Chosei Village’s Head, I will not waste too much time. Do you wish to fight and lose your life or surrender and get the chance to run?”

In response, the Village Chief glanced at Tajima as if asking something. Tajima tch’ed and whispered in his ears, “Just say what I told you to… I will deal with everything else.”

Knowing that at this point, he didn’t have any other options. He took a deep breath in and shouted, “Return back to your village and I won’t think much about this small attempt at attacking my village.”

The Tsurui Village head couldn’t help but laugh out loud at his sentence, “Interesting… You are actually threatening me. This is truly interesting… Very well, let’s see how many fights do these men of yours have within them.”

He started giving a series of orders, “Archers, standby and attack them at my signal! All others, tightly grab hold of your weapons and follow me. After this battle, you can play with any woman you want in this village. I heard that there are quite a few better than average beauty.”

Tajima whispered in the head of the Village Chief, “Order the archers now.” The village Head was somewhat reluctant, but he immediately ordered the archers, “All the archers shoot high while facing the sky.”

One of the archers at the back was confused at the order. He turns around and asks the Village Head, “But Village Head, the enemy is right in front of us. We only need to raise the angle and bit, and we would have a chance of taking down the chief of the Tsurui Village.

With a complicated look, the Village Head looked at that archer who was exhibiting his doubts. There were naturally other people who looked in his direction.

At this time, Tajima gave him a pat on the shoulder and said, “Sir Village Chief, you seem to have forgotten something…”

Naturally, the village chief acted in accord and fiercely ordered, “Just do as you are told. I naturally know what I am doing! You will soon witness the results!”

Obviously, the Village Chief had absolutely no idea. But his fierce voice seemed to have reinforced his orders, and they all pointed towards the sky.

Watching the archers of the enemy forces pointing at the sky. The Tsurui Village Forces couldn’t help but laugh out as he spoke to his fellow comrades, “Do you see those fools? They aren’t even confident in taking our heads at such a distance. They seem to be leaving their fates at the Will of the Heavens. There shouldn’t be any reason for us to delay… Release the rain of arrows!”

100+ arrows were simultaneously released from their bows—all of them heading straight towards the Chosei Village Forces.

However, at this moment, each person in the area felt a sudden gust of wind. The wind gust was so strong that it seemed to have applied the pressure on the arrows and caused them to dip earlier than intended.

Naturally, this caused the arrows not to harm a single man of the Chosei Village. The farthest an arrow reached was near the feet of the first line of men…

All the forces, whether Chosei Village forces or the Tsurui Village Forces, were completely dumbfounded at this.

As they remained silent over this shocking moment. The Chosei Village Forces broke out in cheers as they said loudly, “Heavens’ haven’t forsaken us! We are blessed by the heavens! That wind gust surely was the will of our ancestors assisting us from Heavens!”

Meanwhile, the Tsurui Village Chief was utterly dumbfounded. To think that not a single one of his arrows reached the enemy forces. This was utterly unbelievable.

Before he could even utter anything, he looked at the sky and saw a rain of arrows coming towards them as he continued to stare at the rain of arrows. His eyes widened slightly when he saw some of the arrows changing from their paths.

His eyes widened in realization ‘Someone is changing the paths of these arrows-’ Before he could even think… An arrow hit his skull.

It directly pierced through the skull bone, protecting his brain, and instantly died. His blood splattered a little as his body fell to the ground.

Around him, 39 more men fell down on the ground with the same sight. All of their skulls were pierced by the arrow. It was like not a single arrow was wasted.

Each one of the arrows hit its targets with unbelievable accuracy. They even hit their most vital organ needed for the body to survive, the brain. It was instant death for the 40 men of Tsurui Village Forces, including the Village Chief.

After the death of the Tsurui Village Chief, there was naturally some commotion within their army. However, they weren’t even allowed to debate about it when they witnessed 30 more arrows coming from the left side 30 more from the right side. They raised their wooden shields to block the arrows.

This time, not just the redirection of the arrows. It also seemed like the arrows were speeding up while falling from such great height.

As the arrows struck the shields, almost all the arrows managed to pierce those weak wooden shields and pierce their skull. This shocking sight naturally destroyed any remaining morale left within the Tsurui Village Forces.

The remaining 200 men looked in front and saw the Chosei Village Archers standing in utter shock at such unbelievable luck. It seemed that this wasn’t their plan, and it was all just a coincidence.

This caused the Tsurui Village Forces to be even more regretful. A few seconds ago, they were laughing at their soon-to-be victory, which turned into despair before they could even think about it.

The Chosei Archers seemed to have freed themselves from their shock. They picked up another arrow and began to pull back the bowstring while aiming towards the sky.

This time, the Tsurui Village Forces had already lost most of their morale. No one was stupid enough to be standing there while waiting for these arrows. If the first time was a fluke, then the second and third time could no longer be classified as a fluke.

100 men! A told of 100 men out of 323 men had lost their lives. Even if the causalities were no longer going to be as large as the first batch of men who died. At least 50 men would die…

Nobody wanted to die. So, they decided on what seemed like the most intelligent choice at that time. They turned around and ran for their lives.

Most of them even threw away their weapons while saying loudly, “You are in the way!”

“Dammit! This axe is slowing me down so much.”

“Hey! Don’t be in such a rush. Your weapon just grazed me.”

“Sorry, bro. That was a mistake.”

“Mistake my ass! It almost took my entire arm. I will settle the score when we escape.”

It was quite a commotion as they tried to run away. Even the Chosei Village Forces couldn’t help but gawk at their actions as they saw the way Tsurui Village Forces were acting.

They all had a dumbfounded look as they couldn’t believe what was happening. These men who had arrogantly come to attack their village ran in so much rush...

At around this time, Tajimaa let out a long breath he was holding. He looked down while gritting his teeth ‘Damn! It was hard to redirect those arrows with my Chakra since the distance was too far away… I was fortunate that my control over the wind had improved. If they remained too stubborn, I would have managed that one more time before dropping down due to exhaustion.’

Thankfully, they could no longer remain united after I took out their chief. The sudden change of situation and the confusing command chain was out of their expectations. With these heavy losses, it should take a lot of time before they manage to gather more men to attack this village again.’ He let out a relieved sigh and glanced at the Village Chief.

The Village Chief was utterly astonished at the situation taking such a turn. Even in his wildest dreams, he would never be able to imagine such a scene.

He glanced at Tajima through the corner of his eyes. He was completely sure that this all happened because of Tajima.

He knew that Tajima was a Warrior who used the special enemy Chakra but to think that there was such a huge difference between them caused him to feel a little embarrassed about his own inferiority.

Tajima casually turns towards the Village Chief and whispers, “Get those captives and have your men tie them in the back forest. That will be all…”

With that, he took his leave. The Village Chief had a lot of questions for him, but he was suddenly surrounded by other men who had come towards him to pick him up and raise him in the air.

They all had a jolly mood because of this easy win. Nobody other than the Archers had fought. And even the Archers felt like it was an easy win.

With a thick skin, the Village Chief accepted all the praises he was receiving. There weren’t a lot of opportunities where he would receive all these genuine compliments from the people.

Most of the time, people complimented him just because of his position. Naturally, it was just their respect for the position, not for the person sitting on it.

However, this time, it seemed like their compliments were directed at him, not the village head but himself.

It was rather far-fetched to believe it to be genuine praise since this was all achieved because of Tajima.
