BANG BANGSCREECHThe Sujin I just shot crashes into the cubicles on my right. The woman screams as she covers her ears while running.I heard another screech, this time it’s coming from our left. I look over and see a Sujin diving from the broken window.“Duck!” I pull her down as a Sujin dive from our front. When the monster had passed us, I tap her back. “Go!”She stands up in hurry and continues running while I cover, giving a special care to the left side because there are more broken windows than the other side. The office area has three aisles and four columns of cubicles. Since Rean is fighting the Sujins in the middle aisle with Jake, and Patrick in the right aisle, the only option left is well, the left one.I would’ve gone for the right aisle and go past Patrick. But the walkway is too narrow and he’s already preoccupied with two Sujins.I see another Sujin coming in from the left, so I make her crouch to dodge the dive. At the same time, a Sujin lands in front of us. When
When I left the room, I didn’t plan on fetching Jake immediately. But Rean caught me coming out of the room again.“Terrence!” He calls me.But as I see that he’s about to run towards me, I point at him and shout. “Call Jake! We need blue potion fast!!”I put attention to my performance so it looked and sounded like I’m really panicking. He falls for it and immediately turns around.“Senior Jake!” He shouts to the office area. But none of the seniors could hear him amidst the birds’ screech.Jake is still busy trying to get across the aisle. The birds don’t seem to dwindle in number, and he’s surrounded by them. He manages to stand his ground, but with many birds attacking him in turn, it’s hard for him to make his way anywhere. That goes the same for Patrick. He wants to help them, but he can’t leave the woman by herself. He turns around again to look at Terrence but Terrence had already disappeared.“Tch!” He really can’t stand being still in a situation like this.-A grey van arri
I immediately go the small corridor on the left, just further into that hallway and vanish completely from Rean’s sight. I bet he must be pissed because I suddenly disappear like that. But I have my reason.“That is to take my points!” I ball my fist excitedly, fire blazing in my eyes. Now that the supposed threat in this floor, the hammer man, was already beaten by Rean, I can just take them easily. Though I still look around just to make sure that it’s really safe. The plot differs only in that one factor, so I hope nothing suddenly comes up so suddenly. I haven’t got the chance to figure out why exactly though, so I’ll just be careful and adapt to the new little change.“Ah, I got too excited.” I shrug. Then I stroll happily to the first door in that corridor, just past the fallen plant pot.But then I look around, again, just to make sure. After I’m certain that the big guy isn’t going to come, I sigh. “Relax. That fatty is unconscious. He won’t get here.”Then I open the door. Bu
My voice is high, and it shows clearly that I’m angry. The injured female cadet is surprised and she looks at me with a slight frown. “Just what do you mean? I’m drinking juice to replenish—” “MY juice! And MY cookie!” I point at her hands angrily. She looks at me in confusion. “Just why are you getting angry for? I just take one each. You have one each left…” “I bought these with my last money, you know?! I’m literally broke right now and you don’t even ask my permission when I barge in here!” I approach her and take my bag from beside her. The female cadet is very surprised now. She’s looking at me with wide eyes and that annoyed expression on her face has gone. The workers also stare at me without saying anything. I close my bag and then point at her face. “Next time keep your hands to yourself if you don’t want to lose it!” Then I walk away. “K-Kid! Your gun!” The female worker called. I turn at her instantly. Still with angry face, I grab the gun and immediately leave the
I am broke. Like, I didn’t have much money after the first exam because I spent quite a lot getting those fire bullets to fight Khione, which, turned out quite better than I expected. Although I didn’t manage to beat her, at least I didn’t die thanks to that, that’s the only thing good about it. Before, I was contemplating whether I should just spend everything on Khione or not and I decided to do it. Although, it wasn’t until the fight with her that I realized I don’t want to risk my life even though I don’t know what would happen if I die, whether I’m ‘really’ gonna die or just be sent back to where I actually belong. So yeah, decisions made, ‘not really’ a stupid mistake, but it’s something I can learn from. And I make up for my idiotic mistake with my own creativity and by adapting to the current conditions and situations. I know this body is weak, I get easily tired after working out. So I wasn’t hoping much to depend on physical abilities. But I have a great mind and I’m cre
Although it wasn’t really a bomb, it did change the expression on their faces. “What are you saying? What if there are survivors or hostages?” Jake, as I thought, immediately objects. “Well… We did skip a few floors before this.” I said. “But that’s different! Base told us to come here because Arvena was in trouble!” “That’s because she has her Arrow and she asked for help. Those possible ‘survivors’ that we might have missed on the previous floors do not have Arrows like us. And yet, we skip the floor because she’s in trouble.” I replied. Jake pauses. It’s because I’m right. “B-But I also told Base that there are survivors with me. That’s why I asked them to prioritize.” The injured female cadet, Arvena, said. “That… Also does not argue anything I’ve just said.” I look at her funnily. “Junior, don’t be heartless. We should rescue those we can rescue.” Patrick reprimands me. I look at him weirdly. “Well, look at us now. Can we, though?” The cadets are looking at each other an
The team reaches the emergency stairs and the sounds of monsters could be heard faintly from below.Everyone looks down to see the monsters.“Direwolves and Prattas… They’re scary…” The workers say.“Adding Sujins to that, three types of monsters. Our terrorists must’ve thought it through.” Arvena said.Rean looks over slightly to see the floor below them. There is a hole in each floor, and those holes are not on the flooring outside of emergency exit but exactly on the stairs. The position will make it harder for the monsters to jump over the hole because it’s ascending.‘Only the Direwolves that are capable of jumping over the hole. But since the smell of dusty iron is different from blood, it’s bound to stop them from going up. Not to mention the momentum they must have before jumping because the holes are wide.’ Rean thought. He also thinks it was clever of Patrick to have an efficient thinking.“T-They’re jumping over the holes!” One of the female workers points below. “W-Will th
Halfway to 20th floor, I have to stop because a terrorist suddenly shows up from the 20th floor’s doorway. It’s a big guy, probably 180-ish centimeters tall, and he’s using a spear. A low levelled spear obviously, with wood for bar and cheap looking iron which tip had already been chipped off. I thought he was going to go downstairs, but it turns out he walked upstairs. I don’t wait until he’s out though, I tip-toe upstairs and just slip myself into the doorway right before he turns on the halfway of the next floor. Contrast to the 10th floor, this floor is quite messy. Well, maybe it was because I entered through the emergency door which was closed that time. I didn’t check the other part of the floor, so I didn’t know. There are papers strewn around in the lobby, blood on the wall, and well, one would know there’s been an attack in here. I don’t remember this scene in the game specifically. I hope there’s nothing too bad going on in here. There are three doorways in the lobby. O
