I am broke. Like, I didn’t have much money after the first exam because I spent quite a lot getting those fire bullets to fight Khione, which, turned out quite better than I expected. Although I didn’t manage to beat her, at least I didn’t die thanks to that, that’s the only thing good about it. Before, I was contemplating whether I should just spend everything on Khione or not and I decided to do it. Although, it wasn’t until the fight with her that I realized I don’t want to risk my life even though I don’t know what would happen if I die, whether I’m ‘really’ gonna die or just be sent back to where I actually belong. So yeah, decisions made, ‘not really’ a stupid mistake, but it’s something I can learn from. And I make up for my idiotic mistake with my own creativity and by adapting to the current conditions and situations. I know this body is weak, I get easily tired after working out. So I wasn’t hoping much to depend on physical abilities. But I have a great mind and I’m cre
Although it wasn’t really a bomb, it did change the expression on their faces. “What are you saying? What if there are survivors or hostages?” Jake, as I thought, immediately objects. “Well… We did skip a few floors before this.” I said. “But that’s different! Base told us to come here because Arvena was in trouble!” “That’s because she has her Arrow and she asked for help. Those possible ‘survivors’ that we might have missed on the previous floors do not have Arrows like us. And yet, we skip the floor because she’s in trouble.” I replied. Jake pauses. It’s because I’m right. “B-But I also told Base that there are survivors with me. That’s why I asked them to prioritize.” The injured female cadet, Arvena, said. “That… Also does not argue anything I’ve just said.” I look at her funnily. “Junior, don’t be heartless. We should rescue those we can rescue.” Patrick reprimands me. I look at him weirdly. “Well, look at us now. Can we, though?” The cadets are looking at each other an
The team reaches the emergency stairs and the sounds of monsters could be heard faintly from below.Everyone looks down to see the monsters.“Direwolves and Prattas… They’re scary…” The workers say.“Adding Sujins to that, three types of monsters. Our terrorists must’ve thought it through.” Arvena said.Rean looks over slightly to see the floor below them. There is a hole in each floor, and those holes are not on the flooring outside of emergency exit but exactly on the stairs. The position will make it harder for the monsters to jump over the hole because it’s ascending.‘Only the Direwolves that are capable of jumping over the hole. But since the smell of dusty iron is different from blood, it’s bound to stop them from going up. Not to mention the momentum they must have before jumping because the holes are wide.’ Rean thought. He also thinks it was clever of Patrick to have an efficient thinking.“T-They’re jumping over the holes!” One of the female workers points below. “W-Will th
Halfway to 20th floor, I have to stop because a terrorist suddenly shows up from the 20th floor’s doorway. It’s a big guy, probably 180-ish centimeters tall, and he’s using a spear. A low levelled spear obviously, with wood for bar and cheap looking iron which tip had already been chipped off. I thought he was going to go downstairs, but it turns out he walked upstairs. I don’t wait until he’s out though, I tip-toe upstairs and just slip myself into the doorway right before he turns on the halfway of the next floor. Contrast to the 10th floor, this floor is quite messy. Well, maybe it was because I entered through the emergency door which was closed that time. I didn’t check the other part of the floor, so I didn’t know. There are papers strewn around in the lobby, blood on the wall, and well, one would know there’s been an attack in here. I don’t remember this scene in the game specifically. I hope there’s nothing too bad going on in here. There are three doorways in the lobby. O
“Are you alright?! Oh no, you’re very pale…” The guy talked to me. It was a light tone, like that of a very young man. He’s wearing suit and tie and he can enter the Control Room, obviously he’s a worker here. I try to keep my consciousness intact as I evaluate the situation. I was choked by a terrorist, and this guy beside me saved me and dragged me inside this Control Room. Alright. That’s settled. Now, what was my purpose of fighting that terrorist? Oh right. Getting into this Control Room. Man, my brain lagged for a bit there. Probably because of the lack of oxygen. So I inhale a huge breath like there’s no air left. When I feel satisfied, I sigh and put my attention full on. I finally look up at the guy’s face. And oh man, his complexion is like a Korean boyband but in American version. His skin is fair, his hair is brown, his face is round like an egg, eyes like Bambi, and cute thin lips. If I wasn’t straight, I would’ve fallen for him. I shake the thought out of my head.
Knock knock. A male cadet who is tying his pale-yellow hair in ponytail turns to the door. His glasses glimmering in suspicion. “Hm? Could it be?” The team’s leader, whose hair is dark blue, was sitting on the table right across the door. His grey eyes are expressionless. “Gwen. Get up.” His voice is deep and cold. A female cadet who is lying down on the sofa gets up. Her purple locks falling down her back as her black eyes saunter sleepily to the door. “Who the hell could it be…?” The pale blonde brings his index finger to his lips, a sign to be quiet. His dark eyes glance at the blue haired guy, waiting for the signal. When the blue haired cadet nods, he goes to the door. When the door opens, a group of people is revealed. There are two swordsman cadet in front of the door, one brunette with hazel eyes and one redhead with blue eyes. The leader’s grey eyes instantly focuses on the redhead’s blue. They are staring intensely although the blue ones remain unperturbed. “Team Rufu
Rean slashes through the Direwolf leaping at him, getting a clean cut on its front left paw and leaving it weakly whimpering on the floor.A statis sound echoes from his Arrow. “Why are you going into the hallway, Rean? Go to 20th floor quickly!”“I’m buying short time for the team. There’s one who can’t walk yet.” Rean calmly answered as he slashed another Direwolf coming at him. “And didn’t you say it’s 21st?”“I was mistaken. He’s in 20th floor and stalling many Direwolves for a survivor. Go there fast and see what’s going on.”“Did you ask him whether he’s injured?” Rean asked.“He’s not answering.”Another Direwolf leaps at him, but it’s also slashed. He couldn’t bring it down with one slash this time, but he immediately follows up with a kick to the monster’s snout before slashing his sword down its face. The wolf monster howls in pain.“Hurry, Rean. His movement is strange.”A Direwolf was thrown back with a powerful kick, making a painful yelp.“Tell me his condition.” Rean sl
A bullet left its casing and flies towards the wolf in front. It hits it directly in its left eye, exploding it into a bloody mush.“Haing!” The wolf whimpers painfully. It immediately drops to the ground and paw the left side of its face, which has become wet by the blood oozing from its empty eye socket.“Bark!” The one behind it immediately replace its place in front and runs at me.But I don’t hesitate to shoot it either.I move the aim slightly and pull the trigger again. Another bullet leaves the barrel only to enter the inside of the wolf’s mouth. The wolf coughs blood and falls to the floor. It managed to disorient it for a second, but it starts running again.I shoot it again and got above its eyes this time, right in the center. It falls to the floor and slides on the floor sightly before stopping. Its mouth is wide open and blood is flowing out of its fangs. It’s dead.Right after that, the other two behind it runs alongside each other and coming straight at me.“BARK! BARK
