“Before you separate, please tell Terrence where did you lost the young lady, ma’am.” Natalie speaks through the Arrow.

“Young lady Ruby wears a red dress that reaches her knees, red shoes, and she has her hair tied up with a big red ribbon.” The woman explained.

“Okay. Ruby red. Got it.” I nod.

“Here. Show her this and she will understand that you don’t mean harm.” The woman gave me a handkerchief.

“Wow…” It looks really different from the handkerchief I see in stores. There’s a big logo on it. “Okay. Um, what is your name, mam?”

“My name is Nanny Heather and she’s my young lady Ruby.” She said.

I keep the handkerchief and nod. “Yes, you’ve mentioned her name. Alright, you are Nanny Heather. If I see her, I’ll tell her you sent me. Hopefully she will come with me.”

Nanny Heather looked concerned once again, but she tries to hold it. “Yes. Please, save my young lady!”

I give her a thumb up and a smile. “I will!”

“Come here, Terrence.” Rean signals me.

I approach him and he gave me two

“There are three average office rooms on your right. There’s a pantry and restrooms on the left hallway, along with office area, meeting room, and lobby. The normal stairway and elevators are in the lobby, it’s closer to the furthest office to your right.” She listed the places in the floor in an orderly manner.“The elevator is in the other side of the floor, right?” I confirmed.“Yes.”“Okay.”Her voice was calm when she said all of that. A normal person would think that nothing’s wrong, but the fact that she doesn’t ask a follow up question shows that something ‘is’ wrong.Besides, it’s significant contrast to her expressive tone before. She’s obviously upset, but she knows she can’t argue with me. So she’s just following what I want.To think that just a few minutes ago, she was the one expecting me to follow anything she wanted. As the tentacle monster sings their painful cries, I look around the room. It’s just a regular average office, with a white design desk, a computer, a rolling chair, bookshelf, and a small snack bar. Seems like one of the executives’ private office.I walk around the desk to see anything behind it, and I found a person lying there on the floor with his eyes closed.“Oh thank God, you’re here.” I praised out loud.I don’t really remember which office this guy is trapped in in this floor. But I’m very lucky to have found him in the first one. It saves me some time.I walk over to him and examine his body. Judging by his outfit, he’s obviously a worker. He looked a bit older than Michael, probably in his 30s.There’s a trail of blood from the side of his head to his hair, which signifies a head injury. And he also has black eye, on his right eye, which meant that he had been involved in a fight.“Well. You’re unconscious just like in my memories. That’s good. But we can’t get out of here

They’re stuck. Their previously scary form had now turned into that of miserable children who can only cry.As they’re lamenting their broken tentacles, the door is suddenly pulled open. So they’re trying to run away.SRRKK… SCREECH! – they screech at the enemies in front of them.Terrence and the man he rescued who are already prepared, throw peanuts at the Prattas. I breathe in calmly, trying to recollect myself.“That was scary, but, good job!” The man gives me thumb up.“Aren’t the elevators broken?” I frown as I look at the numbers.“The VIP elevator is solely operated by the top Connector. So even though the others are disabled, if you have the access card, you can use it!” The man explained excitedly.“Why didn’t anyone tell me that? If I knew, I would’ve used it.” I mutter in annoyance. The man chuckles. “Well, your friend might not have known that either.”True. I remember the female cadet only saying it’s for level 1 worker, and the only information I can remember about that card is that it’s a key item for the last Connector. An executive might have given it to a cadet in hope that it would be useful for the rescue, and thankfully it is.‘Why did I not think about it?’ I curse myself for my obliviousness. But I decide to get past it. At least we have a mean to go upstairs without having to deal with monsters. But… If monsters had appear

There’s still something I need to do there.“We’ll go our separate ways. The man is coming with me and we will go up once you’ve cleared the floor.” I told him with a nervous crack in my tone.Rean pulls me by my shoulder. “It’ll be much faster if we do it together. Besides, do you think 27th floor is clear from monsters? Have you been there?”“Hey! I have to save my bullets for unknown ambushes! I’ve already emptied a whole casing just firing on those you invited in here!” I yell at him, I was referring to the battle just now in 28th.He pulls away. “How many bullets you got left?”I take out the magazine in my gun and the ones I’ve reserved in my bag and pockets.

As we make our way to the end of the hallway, I realized that what he meant by 'offices' include small studios and dressing rooms.Of course, there is also an average office room with the Head Office designated inside which works like administration too. There are dead bodies of Prattas and a Direwolf there, and I found visible slash wounds on them. I don't know if it's caused by swords or axe, but it's surely either of those.I had the man hide in the Head Office inside that room after making sure it's safe. He had returned to his seat and Natalie is sitting in her own chair between Sheena and him.“He doesn’t have much time. He knows the others are in a jam above that floor.” Sheena said. But she’s not looking at Terrence’s camera.Kal looks doubtful. “Does he really, though?”No one responds to that because the two girls are looking at the other camera window being played in Kal’s computer. It shows the view from Jake’s camera, and it could be seen that the seniors have sustained some injuries. “Oh… Jake and the others are looking bad. After I told her to stay put inside the house, I went to the restaurant.Sure enough, I found him there along with some scared and injured villagers.“Cadet!” The chief immediately came to me. “How’s the village’s condition? Do you know why is this happening?”“First things first, chief, is everyone here? I made sure nobody’s outside, but I haven’t really checked door to door. And your wife is by the house. I made sure she’s safe.” I told him.He nodded frivolously. “Ah yes, yes, thank you! Yes, everyone had gathered here after the monsters came. Your friend the blue haired guy protected me while I checked.”Huh. I didn’t think that guy would be quite nice to do that. But it’s part of being a cadet, so it’s not worth my compliment.I nodded at his report and went to check on the injured villagers. I knew I couldn’t

He needs to be taught a lesson!!”When I looked, Pierce was holding Rufus from behind. The four-eyed didn’t say anything, but it looked like he was trying his best to stop his leader from finishing me. His face was starting to get pinkish.I’m a bit surprised to see that Pierce got balls to stop that blue maniac. But I used this chance to get up.“I swear! I did not do it! I was looking for a Bearon like you told me to! I don’t know anything about the broken fences or monsters!” I said. I tried to make it believable.Rufus stopped resisting and glared his eyes at me. “Broken fences? So you knew the fences w

  • 120 - Re-group (1)

Terrence and Guinevere returned to the village via the same way the monsters the entered the village. The village’s condition wasn’t that much of a difference. It was still in chaos. Although there were more upturned wagons and broken fences, along with monster carcasses. Both cadets grimaced when they saw the situation. Then the plum haired one nodded. “Yeah. Nu-uh. You obviously can’t trigger those monsters. But Rufus obviously wouldn’t listen. He BELIEVED you did it. So, you’re still in trouble.”“Dang it!” Terrence sighed heavily, pretending to be very bothered by it. “Couldn’t this day get any better?”Then they heard a scream from our right. It was high pitched and it was asking for help.“Help!! Uwaa!”A little girl emerged from the corner of a house, looking all bruised and bleeding. Behind her, a Cassory was following her closely while pecking on her dirty blue dress from behind. With her clothes being pulled, the girl lost her balance fell to the ground with a yell. The Cass

Guinevere followed the sound of gunshots and roars that led her deeper into the Southeast Forest. Her heart was beating fast with anxiety. Between getting lost and ambushed, she was also anxious that they would be punished for the chaos in the village. They were the ones who told Blondie to hunt a Bearon after all. And Guinevere had a thought that he must have aggravated the monsters in the forest somehow. She didn’t know if that’s true, but that what most likely to happen. And if it was, then it was their fault.'Is he dead?' Guinevere pouted in distress. Because if he was, it was also their fault. She started to think that testing the Blondie with Bearon hunt ‘alone’ was a bad idea. 'What if he's badly injured and he reports us to the teachers? But he's a nobody. So no one would listen to him, right? But he looks like he's close with Rean... And Rean is a star student, teachers praised him&helli

  • 118 - Sweet Chaos

“How can monsters enter the village?!” The villagers panicked. Rufus’s group tensed. Everybody knew that monsters couldn’t get into villages because there are wards installed. The only chances they could enter are only if those wards were destroyed. Which is obviously what happened here. “The wards… They’re broken…” Pierce mumbled in disbelief. The cadets immediately left the restaurant to look at the situation. When they reached outside, Prantas and Cassories were running around, chasing the villagers and making a mess in the village. “Waaarrkk!!” The Cassories screeched as they were making chaos. “Aaahh! Help!” “Monsters!” The villagers screamed. Some of them were running into their homes, some were hiding behind a cart, or even defending themselves with whatever they could. They were trying their best not to get hurt. “Ah! Duck!” Guinevere dragged Pierce down in time as a Cassory jumped at them. “Wark—ARK!” The freakish bird was immediately slashed by Rufus and fell to t

  • 117 - Mischief

In the end, that SE stood for South East because we ended up going to the forestry near Rowan village.I didn’t take them to be people who like cold temperature, but I think they picked this area because the monsters are less wild than the southwest.Southeast region has Bearons, bear like beast monsters, that while don’t move as fast as Direwolves in the southwest, are essentially more powerful. Added with a couple of Prantas, vine-like plant monsters that crawl on the ground and could grab someone by their feet, this area is a perfect place for training.“The target today is killing a Bearon. Then we’ll bring its head to the local hunting lodge. It’ll fetch some money for dinner.” Rufus said.I’ve always wondered how did the game reward the characters’ team money while all they do is just killing. But here, I found out that monster corpses could be exchanged for money through instances such as Hunting Lodge in the forest. But luckily for me, I didn’t have to do that because the Syst

He was so determined to help people and raise the society’s view of the academy. Maybe I could ask him for help.I opened the map of Orion Terrace to find the guy, but I saw his name right on my dot.“Huh?” I frowned. Then I felt a poke on my shoulder and appeared in front of me was the guy I was looking for.“Hey! You took my job!” He crossed his hands on his chest and looked a bit upset.“Sorry.
