The horses were tired and all the passengers already had pressure sores after a long journey so the caravan stopped again that everyone will rest before they start the last sprint of the journey.
Everyone disembarked to stretch their legs. The guards caught some unranked wild game and it was shared as everyone individually built their own fire to make barbecue. "I want to urinate", a young lady said shyly as she wanted someone to escort her. It's getting dark and no one wants to be far away from the camp. "Ease yourself there", a young handsome guard said pointing to the rear of the caravan. Everyone ate and went to sleep as the guards stay awake and make sure the fire was not out. It was around three o clock in the morning, the galloping of horses accompanied by the fierce shout of the bandits was heard. Everyone scrambled awake and the bold able bodied men brought out their weapons, they joined the guards to provide everyone. The bandits obviously waiting for someone did not attack, rather they surrounded the camp. A new set of bandits dressed better with good weapon rode in and the other bandits made space as Roq rode in followed by the others. "I am Roq and I am here to destroy one of you", he said as he laughed loudly. All the other bandits began to scream ROQ! ROQ! Roq who was satisfied with this squinted and looked at everyone's face trying to get a hint of fear from their faces. "Is he looking for me? I knew it, this woman is not so kind", Louis thought as he already guessed he was the one they were searching for. "Anyone with the name LOUIS should step forward". All the bandits laughed arrogantly as they all got down from their horses. Louis had not talked to anyone that he had to mention his name so he thought he was pretty safe until he remembered that he registered with his real name. Everyone continued cower in fear as they looked at the bandits. "I am trying to be peaceful and I hope you cooperate. Louis should complete out now", Roq said as he was trying to cool his nerves trying not to get angry. No one said anything or stepped out. Roq waited for about five minutes and no one made a move. Louis was betting on luck that he would not be caught. "My time is so precious", Roq said again but this time the calmness in his voice was already gone. His previously gentle eyes began to turn fierce. This is the time to show his usefulness to the young master and it has been confirmed that Louis traveled with this caravan. He noticed the caravan owner and stared fiercely at him. Even though Barl, the caravan owner looked calm, that was just a facade. Who would stand in front of such a fierce group of bandits and will stay unafraid. "Since you are all unwilling to talk, I guess I have to do it my way", Roq said as he focused his gaze on the young lady that hid behind Barl. He guessed that was his daughter. Roq knew Barl knew something and he wanted to force him to talk.Whoosh Woosh. Two arrows hit the young lady as she screamed and fell down. Barl could no longer keep calm as he rush towards his only child. "If you take another step, I will shoot another arrow", Roq said as he removed another arrow from the quiver. Barl stopped running, he knew he had to choose between customer secrecy and family. Barl could trade everything but his daughter. He had always felt guilty that he could not protect her mother, that's why he takes her with him on his every journey. Roq laughed louder and all the other bandits joined him. He could see the hesitation on Bart's face and that confirmed the fact that he knew Louis. Louis who thought he was already safe felt danger again. "This bandit chief is playing with human psychology. It was already a certainty that Bart will point him out as the hesitation on his face was gradually vanishing as his daughter continued to bleed", Louis thought. Just when Roq was about to shoot another arrow, Bart shouted, "No don't shoot" as he pointed at Louis who was hiding amidst the passengers. All the other passengers avoided Louis like virus as no one wanted to be implicated. Roq jumped down from his house for the first time since his arrival and walked towards Louis. Louis thought of escaping with a horse but he had no access as the front was filled with bandits and the passengers at the rear. Roq got to where Louis was and dragged him back, the fury in his eyes was ...GBOA. A hot slap landed on Louis face. "This is for wasting my time". Few hours had passed since they came and the day was very clear now. "What are you still waiting for?", Roq said as he looked at the passengers shivering. As Roq finished talking, all the passengers ran to the caravan and they were about to continue the journey. Bart threw Louis's bag and they sped off. The jingling of the bag as it touched the ground made the bandits pay attention. "Go check what is in the bag", Roq ordered. The closest bandit poured out everything in the bag and a lot of silver and bronze coins fell in the ground. The bandit picked all the coins and returned it to the bag and handed it over to Roq. "Back to you. I should have given you an easy death but the fact that you wasted my time...", Roq said. He looked at Louis and signalled to the bandits who were armed with rod and clubs. "Beat him to death", Roq said as s he regained his look. Roq went back and sat on his horse as Louis screamed in pain as the fierce beating began. "Bastard". "Fool". All sort of insulting words pour out of the bandit's lips as they flogged him tirelessly. As some were getting tired, others were replacing them. "Am I going to die again?", Louis asked himself. "It's a pity that you obstructed Young Master Nicho Samton"s plan". "Oohh. So it was Nicho that planned all these. I have noted this name and I will carry out my revenge if the heavens allow me", Louis thought as he gathered all his remaining strength and ran towards the wide river in front when they had lessened their vigilance. "He escaped", a bandit who noticed shouted but it was too late as Louis had already jumped into the river."These fools thought I had given up", Louis thought as he continued to wade in the waters against the flow. River Oseta was one of the major rivers in the Continent, it separated Samton Earldom from the Kingdom which made the Earl had the final say as orders from the kingdom can't reach them. It is believed to lead straight into the ocean so Louis had to try his best to make sure he was not carried away by the river or all the previous efforts will be put to waste. "Hahaha, Hahahaha", all the bandits laughed as they saw Louis struggling in the river. Even the bandit chief, Row who wanted to shoot his arrow at him returned the arrow to the quiver and joined his subordinates in the roaring laughter. "I can't give up, I won't be tired, I will not be weary", Louis motivated himself as he was quickly losing strength. The laughter continued as they can see him slowly drifting away. "This current is too high. According to my memory, no one had ever gone and come back. Let me tr
POOSH one of the limbs of the tortoise hit his buttocks as he was thrown into air, moving towards the island. "I hope this little boy land on the right place", this was the tortoise's thought as he sank to hide from her enemy. Louis who tightened his grip on the claw he removed from the tortoise's wound was thrown out unprepared. The distance was not so far so Louis got to the island in seconds as he luckily landed on a marshy area of the island. "My cloth is dirty again", Louis grumbled as he dragged his mud soaked body out of the marsh. He wanted to remove the clothes before he remembered that he had no other clothes to change into. "I don't know if there are wild beasts here whether ranked or unranked. I don't know if there is a shelter on this highland. I need light as it is getting really dark", all sort of thoughts passed through Louis's mind as he trudged on. "Anyway, I know I will survive this mess. My luck has been good thus far", he concluded in his mind. At t
SWISSH Louis disappeared as the intensity of the Golden light suddenly increased. The Artifact spirit that materialized after Louis was teleported away shook his head in deep thoughts. "I hope this boy will grow up and become a real strong man in this world". "This little lad is very curious, let me add the history of this continued to his memory which he will able to recollect gradually", he though as he can into thin air, his face filled with laughter. A Golden lined hexagram appeared in the sky and the figure of a boy fell through it. JEEZ. "I was dropped into the sky by this old cunning guy", Louis thought as he was falling with a very fast velocity towards the ground. He looked around and all he saw was a thick forest, he could not see the soil as there were canopy of branches filled with leaves. "This old man must have done this intentionally". Louis was a none cultivator and a fall from such a height will result in instant death. He was now in the canopy of leave
Adolor led them on the return journey, he used his sword to cut all the vines and branches obstructing their path. He was on the look out for snakes and poisonous insects because it was getting dark and insects and reptiles are more active during the night. They trekked for a few minutes before they joined an untared road. Many trucks and modified small vehicles were carrying goods and passengers to the city. A black stylish car parked in front of Adolor's group, Adolor opened the door for Dofy who entered and signaled to Louis to enter. Adolor entered and the car zoomed off. "Who is this?", the driver of the car asked Adolor as he noticed an additional passenger through the mirror. "Just an unlucky boy". Adolor who answered very briefly closed his eyes which stopped the curiosity of the driver. All the other vehicles traveling on the road drove off their way and greeted them respectfully. The car which was moving at a very fast speed soon got to the gate of the town. "Thi
Louis was amazed as he walked through the tarred road outside the Earl Estate, cars were moving to and fro just like on Earth. "No wonder, the artifact spirit called it a modern world". Even though he really wanted knowledge about this world, he was really hungry as he was neglected by everyone in the Estate. Louis branched at a road side cafeteria and ate a little where he spent [~~] Divis. "I have to start earning money as survival can be hard without it", Louis thought as his pocket had started deflating. Satisfied, with a smile on his face Louis left the cafeteria and continued the journey to the City Library. Louis reached the library which was guarded by few security men. "Your ID card", a uniformed man stopped Louis by the gate and stretched his right hand. Louis placed the ID Card given by the Earl at the man's palm, the man looked at it for few seconds w before he swiped it in a detection machine fixed to the gate polls. The machine flashed green and the card was ret
The fifty thousand Divis is almost finished and one week will soon be over when the accommodation fee he paid at the inn will expire. "I have to get a way to earn money that will not endanger my life", Louis thought as he left the inn the sixth day. Louis walked around the inner city looking for a way to get a job, but unfortunately for him all the companies needed Education certificates or connection to offer jobs. Louis was tired but as he touched his pockets, the scanty cash pushed him to search further. It's been a long tiring day for Louis as even a drop of water had not touched his mouth, of course water was not free until the inner city. It was already dusk and he still had not gotten a job. Tomorrow was the day his accommodation fee will expire. Louis had slept yesterday hungrily, trying to conserve money. Hunger woke him up as his stomach and intestines were squeezing causing a very severe pain. Louis who could not manage any longer packed all the cheap set of clothes
Louis came out if the building as he sighed. "I am no longer broke. This money should be able to get me some essential materials needed for my laboratory", Louis thought. "The cost of living in the inner city is very high as all my current net worth cannot buy a building not to talk of machines, super computers and the materials needed for research". Louis who was lost in thought ran into a young man who was dressed in obviously very expensive clothes. The man Louis ran into was Brad Cain, from the Cain Clan. The Cain Clan was a top business family as their wealth could rival the Rosett Clan. The only way they were inferior was in strength, but even with that the Rosett Clan still respect them as the Cain Clan are backed by Duke Lane and an all out war will severely damage the two families. Brad was the son of Lart Cain and Rose Lane from the Lane family and he had been pampered since he was small, this grew up with him and he had become a public scum detested by the ci
Just take care of yourself and SURVIVE! This was the last thing he heard before he was kicked out of the car, he could imagine the grinning face of Mr. Fallon as he knew the man could not do that if he was not ordered. Louis who had been through a lot was emotionally drained even though his wound was healed went to an inconspicuous inn, which has almost turned into ruins to gain shelter through the night and to escape the tracking of his pursuers. He thought he was completely free from the pursuit of the Cain family, but he underrated the intelligence of a major family in the city as his location had already been unravelled to the thugs of the Cain family who controlled one of the top gangs in the outer city, Blood Hawk. Brad who came out of the Warrior Guild Building disappointed as he once again failed the examination. He was about to enter his car when he remembered the boy who offended him and had passed the exam, he became more infuriated and he sulked as he entered th
