Chapter 27.  Distraction

Just then, a young waiter came to Hudson's side.

" Hello sir, please can you move forward?"

" Why?" Hudson looked up at the waiter.

" Because this place is too dark, and we will like everyone's presence to be visible," the waiter answered politely.

" Am I complaining?"

Hudson chuckled and crossed his leg over the other.

" No sir, it not about that." The waiter shook his head negatively.

" What's going on over there?"

The event organiser walked forward to where Hudson, and the waiter were, as she asked.

But unexpectedly, her voice attracted some attention from the audience.

"Sorry ma'am. I was just telling this young man to move forward, as you instructed me, but he refused," the waiter reported.

" What's wrong with you young man?" The moment the event organiser heard that, she turned to Hudson and stood akimbo. " I was the one who told him to order those sitting here to move to the front."

Hudson didn't answer, but he looked up at the event organizer.
