Chapter 31

“Thank you.” He smiled softly.

They started walking slowly together, side by side. Neither of them wanted to talk, so neither of them dared to do it. Instead, they both watched as the scenery around them slowly changed from the bleak buildings and dark alleyways that they had seen earlier to the open fields and beautiful forests that surrounded them.

“You know, I’m glad to see that you don’t seem to mind being stuck in this city after everything that happened.” She said softly. “It must be nice living somewhere where people will look after you and provide you with food and shelter.”

“Actually, yes. I always felt uncomfortable and unwanted in the hospital. I used to live alone in the foster homes, and I didn’t feel very safe, so whenever I had to move in with a new family, they would ask me for my name, age, and where I came from.
