a loud roar interrupts the tense situation.“Get your filthy hands off her now”, growls a darkly menacing voice. Goldberg’s eyes widen as he turns in the direction that the voice came from. From his peripheral vision he sees the man’s grip loosen on his gun. He takes advantage of the opportunity to push forward and kick the weapon right out of the attacker’s hand as he turns around to face him. “Get out of my sight”, he tells him.The stranger looks surprised, but quickly recovers. With a quick nod of his head, he walks away in the direction that he came from, leaving Goldberg alone and confused. Turning back to face the woman, he takes a step forward to ask her how the hell she managed to sneak up on him like that, but when he sees the look on her face, he stops dead in his tracks, wondering just why this girl looked angry enough to shoot someone, even if the guy was threatening her. she places the plate full of scrambled eggs in front of him. They sit silently for a few minutes, watching each other, and Goldberg is surprised to discover that she is the first person he has talked to since waking up this morning. The silence between them feels comfortable. We met yesterday when we picked up your groceries…” He smiles faintly as he reads those words, knowing that he should be happy. However, he still has that bad feeling in the pit of his stomach that he got when he first came here with Rita.However, he shouldn't allow himself to get too excited. After all, it can be a coincidence that the woman was standing outside the grocery store that day and recognized him as he walked out, or maybe he's reading way too much into the situation and just imagining everything. Either way, he won't believe that it is Rachel Lopez from the grocery store. He doubts that he would recognize her anyway without being able to see her. However, after spending so much time with Rita, it doesn't seem strange that she knew someone who went to their high school, which means that he can't possibly ignore it. The following day, Goldberg arrives early to class before his lecture starts. His eyes land on Gold’s table immediately and he feels instantly drawn to it. Goldberg walks slowly past the row of chairs, admiring Gold’s face for a few moments before sitting down next to him. Before leaving his apartment the previous day, Goldberg had decided that he couldn’t sleep anymore – too nervous about meeting his mother and about what she was going to do once she learns about the conversation he had had with her the night before. So, he decides that he should sit in the room and wait until he’s certain that his mom is nowhere near before walking back to his flat, just to be on the safe side. Now, he feels a little bit relieved that everything turned out alright – although, of course, there’s always the possibility that his mother wouldn’t react well to the news and will end up calling the police. As soon as Rachel closes her eyes, the first image she sees is Mr. Gold sitting on her bedroom floor, holding her hand while they watch Romeo & Juliet together. Rachel feels her heart melt at the memory and her thoughts drift back to when she was younger; he held her hand during every performance he was giving. He always asked her if he should change his pose during a particular scene just to match her response of yes or no depending on what emotion she had experienced during the previous act. He often joked about how it was better if he could see her face during those moments because her expression was so expressive. Sometimes, he teased her because he knew that she would blurt out an immediate “no” every single time. However, after he saw the way her lips curved up as if she wanted to smile, he decided to tease her more. Even though he was just teasing her, Rachel was thankful because he reminded her of his presence and she couldn’t deny that she enjoyed the closeness they shared.
