DIGGING YOUR OWN GRAVE

Vera stood at the corner of the door, overhearing the entire call Sophia made. And when Sophia was done, she was startled to see Vera standing close to her door.

“What you're trying to do is illegal.” She uttered.

Sophia placed her phone into her bag pack, “I just have some things to take care of. You don't need to worry.”

Vera noticed the bag on Sophia's back… and her outfit. She was leaving them again…. But she just got here yesterday. She was probably going to see this person she just spoke with on the call.

“Ever since mom died. You've become a shadow of your own self. From having Becca and leaving her here… and getting involved with these criminals.”

Sophia ran her fingers through hair before moving close to Vera. “I guess I just do things because it's who I am….”

Vera shook her head, “No… it's not… you used to be…”
