TRAP?
They all exchanged glances at each other before turning to Byron.

“A little broken bone will teach this rat a lesson!” The hefty one said.

“Don’t!” They heard a voice from inside before they could even take a step towards Byron.

A fat old man walked out and stood at his balcony, staring at the gate where Byron and the rest were. He had a smoke pipe at the corner of his mouth, as his eyes were fixed on Byron like he had been expecting him.

“Don’t touch him, let him in.” He blew on his pipe and pulled it out. “He has an appointment.”

Byron kept a straight face. These hefty looking men should rather thank their stars that their boss came out on time. He was ready to punch their faces in.

“Boss, you can’t go in there alone. It might be a trap.”

“He’s right, boss… you can’t trust mafias, especially the one as notorious as Richard Rowland.”
