Albus walked through the halls of his lab in a frenzy. His rage was visible and could be felt from miles away.
"What's the status on the pathfinder" he asked as someone handed him a file.
"So it's still the same" he said as he looked into the file
"YOU INCOMPETENT BASTARDS!!!" He yelled, throwing away the file and walking into one of the rooms.
It was an old room full of books and the person that Albus came to see had his back turned.
"Our legion was defeated" the man said
"Our subjects were taken"
"Our most powerful prophet met his match"
"And not a single one of our enemies was harmed"
"The council is not happy"
"These rebels have created a nation and soon they will coming for ours"
"So do we strike back immediately?" Albus asked and the man replied
"No"
"This is not the time to use crude methods"
"We already have a plan they won't see coming, so don't worry yourself, General Albus" the man said and Albus replied
"Yes, councillor Nicholas"
Meanwhile back at the fortress, Mina and the others were getting ready to carry out Susan's plan. They had their gears ready and they were all full of energy and ready to go.
According to Susan's information, a large number of magical beasts dwelt behind the fortress. These beasts were reason why the fortress was built in the first place.
And according to Mina's information, the order suppressed the possibility of any of the beasts being tamed.
The order was unable to bring any beast to their side even though some were friendly to the common people, so they killed anyone that had a friendly encounter with a beast and made it seem like the beasts did it.
It was more of a quest than a hunt since it it was stated that one could only tame a beast that accepted him. But even with all the information at hand, Yen still had a bad feeling.
"We should make sure everyone is at full strength before we move" he said
"I get the feeling that some beasts might just want to kill you"
"These things are here because the divine presence that kept them out the physical realm vanished"
"So you should be careful out there"
Yen's words were always sincere so everyone listened to him and double checked before setting out to leave.
As they opened the back gates of the fortress, what they saw was a beautiful enchanted forest.
"Who knew there was a place like this?" Yamato wondered.
It was peaceful and serene, even the sky looked different. There was no magical beast in sight, only wild animals.... Or so they thought.
Mina got entranced by the cuteness of a chubby white Bunny with a fluffy tail and didn't waste time diving at it
"Oh, he's so chubby and cute" she said as she held it close to her face. The big bunny... didn't like that for some reason, so he went all pikachu on her.
At this moment, they realized that every single creature they were looking at was a magical beast. And Mina realized that no amount of shock can stop you from loving a cute animal even it shocked you until you look like Ash. Luckily for her, Yen got quite friendly with the bunny and made pact with it, so she could hug it all she wanted without the worry of being shocked.
As for Rosewell, things went quite smoothly. All he did was to walk a bit further and the birds all flocked to him.
"At this rate, one could call him a chick magnet" Mina said mockingly.
Others managed to get a beast that suited them. Yamato got a tiger, fubuki got a bear and a penguin. Kojiro got a turtle, and inumaki got a lion.
Lee got an eagle but Susan wasn't compatible with any of the animals.
As they went further, what was before them was not so good. It was a plane that looked dark even under the light of the sun. The beasts that dwelt there looked like the very embodiment of rage and hunger. A single stare from one of them carried more killing intent an angry villain, and anyone that saw the way the way they drooled could already feel their flesh get bitten off.
"And I just remembered the part when someone said this things were immortal"
So there they stood, before hungry undying beasts, ready to engage and enter the fray. Then Mina asked "What exactly is the plan?" and there was a momentary pause "We...don't exactly have a plan" Susan answered "The divinity of these creatures wasn't something I was aware of until today" "If it is true that they are immortal, we could only take on a handful of them, but these guys are too much in number for us to handle" "I suggest we run" "That won't be necessary" Yen said out loud "I already know what we should do" he said "What is it?" everyone asked "Well, it's quite simple" Yen answered "We will keep the beasts busy, while our dear Susan figures out a way to capture them" "But that would take a long time" Susan said, and Yen turned back and looked her in the eye then said "YOU HAVE TIME" before running off into midst of the beasts. "I have time" Susan muttered repeatedly "I have time..." "I have time..." "I have time..."
Three years passed with peace and there was no attacks from the order. It seemed that the defeat of Albus had caused them to take their enemies more seriously and make bigger, longer preparations. Mina and the others didn't know what the order was planning but they definitely weren't doing nothing. They had managed to raise an army of thousands; all valiant and powerful, each unit with their own speciaty. There was the 'Storm riders' who rode large mounts into battle. Most of them wielded wind and lightning techniques, and the elites among them rode their elements. This unit was trained by Minna who knew more about Yen's power he did. Yen on the other hand joined in training under her. Another unit was the 'ground breakers' who specialized in 'ground breaking' earth and fired techniques. Led by Inumaki these warriors have been trained to bend the ground below them to their will, and the fire users among them helped in their eruption techniques. Inumaki doubled as the l
Betty's info wasn't totally reliable. All she knew was what she was told to do and nothing more. But Rosewell already expected as much and already had a means of getting things from her. Betty was a naïve young girl in her mid teens. By giving her a name, Rosewell took advantage of that and got her to open up to him. He got other information like the layout of the enemy territory, the drop point of her mission and a few other information that were really helpful. Rosewell didn't waste time in informing the others of what had happened and they all ready to jump into action. Everyone prepared with haste and were ready to go in just a few minutes. But before they left, Mina decided to see Betty. She walked into the room where Betty was and was shocked by the young girl's reaction. As soon as Betty saw Mina she immediately ran to the farthest corner of the room and screamed "DON'T COME ANY CLOSER!!" at the top of her voice. but Mina slowly approached her anyway. "I know y
Yen laid unconscious with almost no breath in his lungs, his pulse was so little that it could barely be felt. His heart beat as if it was about to give up, and his body was so cold that he could be declared dead. But Mina had no time to grieve over Yen's condition. As she knelt beside him crying, a scout came to report that a large army had been spotted outside the city walls. She immediately stood up and left the room saying ,"let's go pay them back" as she wiped her tears. Mina made her way to the military assembly ground and called out "STORM RIDERS!!!" And in a matter of seconds, her entire unit was assembled. They numbered about one-thousand with fifty-five elites and all were ready for battle. The others also assembled their own units and got ready to march out into battle. Inumaki with his 'ground breakers', Lee with his 'shuan-gou' unit, Susan with the rescue team, and Yamato with the king's army. Rosewell refused to lead any unit. He just wanted to run into t
Yen walked up to Mina and said to her "let me give you a hand." as he kissed her forehead. Then he took a few steps forward and snapped his fingers, releasing a strong electromagnetic pulse throughout the battlefield and causing every machinery to stop functioning. Then he set his gaze upon Albus and his killing intent was felt by many. He walked slowly towards Albus who was backing away in fear. "That was a nice exploding act you performed earlier" Yen said as he continued walking. His eyes were fully sparking with lightning and so was the entirety of his body. The Sparks of lightning were so intense that every step he took left burn marks on the ground as he walked. "You're supposed to be dead" Albus said in a horrified tone as he continued to back away. "HOW THE HELL ARE YOU STILL ALIVE!!" he yelled as he turned and started running. Yen followed right behind him, repeating the words "why are you running?" "Why are you running?" "Why are you running?" "Wh
"Let the air bear witness" "Let the earth bear witness" "Let the sun bear witness" "Let the morning bear witness" "On this sacred day" "We bind our lives" "By flesh and blood" "By mind and soul" "By life and death" "One shall not depart without the other" "If one departs, the other shall follow" "We seal this bond with the power of death himself" "It cannot be shaken" "It can never be broken" As soon as Hanzo and Jade recited this spell, they were bound for life. If one of them was to die the other would follow immediately. Even though they worked for the order where romance was highly prohibited and punishable by.... well no one knows exactly what happens to those who get caught except for the fact that they were never seen again, these two lovebirds were still brave enough to perform such an act. "So what now?" Jade asked "We're now bound death but we are being separated in life" she lamented "I know you're worried but you have to calm down" Hanzo sai
"I always wanted to be a hero. I wanted to be the one that everyone could put their faith in no matter the situation. I wanted them to have no fear as long as I was around." "But here I lay. Alone, waiting for my strength to return while the enemy slays my people." "I feel helpless" "I feel weak" "I feel pain" Shin lamented as he laid on the ground unable to make a move. Tear flowed out of his eyes as he looked up into the sky. Then suddenly, a voice came to him saying "Get up!' "But I can't" Shin replied "Get up you foolish son of mine" the voice said again "There is no weakness In you" "The numbness in your feet is a lie" "The fear in your heart is an illusion" "The pain you feel does not exist" "So get up" "Get up, oh son of grace" "Get up and fight" "Let them feel your power" "LET THEM HEAR THE THUNDER!!" Suddenly, Shin no longer felt any pain in his body. His breathing was fine, his movements were perfect.
"Are you ok my love?" Shin said as he ran swiftly to his wife's side. "Don't worry" he said "You're safe now" "You and our child are both safe" he said as placed his hand on her stomach. "I know you're tired from all the hard work" Hannah said. "Just rest for a while" she added as she placed Shin's head upon her laps. "By the way..." "What's with the new look?" She asked with a curious smile "Oh, this?" Shin replied "It's just temporary" "I'll be back to normal in no time" "The others still aren't back yet?" Shin asked with his eyes getting heavy "No, not yet" Hannah replied "Ugh c'mon" Shin whined as he fell asleep. By the time Shin woke up, it was already evening and everyone had returned. Kento, Hiro, Xiao, Ryu, and Lana who went beast hunting with their parents had just returned before Shin woke up. On the other hand, Mina, Rosewell, Susan and Landon arrived earlier with very important news. "They want to sink the isl
