The market day

    "This is my day"

    "This is my day"

    "This is my day"

It kept repeating but Natsumi could not understand what it meant"

   "This is my day"

She knew she had forgotten something

   "This is my day"

She was sure she had forgotten something

   "This is my day"

Something that would help her discern the situation.

   "This is my day"

It stopped as soon as she realized what it meant. She remembered that when she thought it was Orie's birthday, he had told her these words. She remembered how he told her of the four market days of his tribe and that he shared his name with one of them. She remembered that he told her how the days affected his power, and this made her the least surprised person among the audience when Orie got back up on his feet.

"WHAT... THE... F***!!!!?" Ellie screamed at the camera

"How much blood does this guy have?"

"He's lost so much yet he is still standing"

"What kind of immortal dragon sh** is this"

"This is not easy to believe"

Ellie was not the only one in disbelief. Her shock paled in comparison to what others were feeling.

The crowd was so loud that Chris had to look around to know what was going on. At first, he thought they were cheering for him but when he listened closely, what he was hearing didn't sound like cheering so he looked around to investigate, and that was when he saw Orie.

It didn't even look like he was stabbed, it didn't even look like he fell. The smile on his face made it look like someone had just played a bloody prank on him and he was just beginning to get the joke.

The bood on Orie's body and the blood around him began to converge on his hand. It took the shape of a sword and hardened. This was another shock to the crowd and to his opponent.

A change in dressing wouldn't normally mean much to people but those that knew Orie to wonder why he chose to put on red instead of his usual black. It was as if he was expecting blood to spill on that day.

The expectation of many people could be summed up in one sentence; "Chris is still a better swordsman". The reality of that expectation was shattered.

If your eyes weren't trained to see fast moving objects, what you would see as you watched the fight would be two fast moving lines and sparks all over the place. All majority of the crowd was sure of was that the the silvery line was Chris and that the red line was as Orie; besides that, no one knew what was actually going on in the arena. Only after a short pause did people see their faces but there was still no way of being sure who had the upper hand.

The clash continued with few short pauses until the last long pause and everyone knew who was losing the sword clash; it was Chris.

His loss was not because of the cuts on his body; Orie's cut were relatively the same. His loss was not shown in his heavy breathing; his opponent was also out of breath. His loss of the sword clash was shown in his next action when a circle appeared beneath him; a summoning circle.

SHIN SEKAI SECRET: Kojiro the history teacher has never competed in any of the tournaments. Instead, he works to maintain the barrier between the arena and the spectators.
