Eddie stood amidst the clatter of the factory floor, his hands slightly greasy from handling the machinery. It was mid-morning, and the routine tasks of the day were in full swing when he heard a familiar voice that sent a jolt of surprise through him.

"Is he diligent, perhaps because he just moved here?"

Eddie turned to find Mrs. Lorraine, his boss's wife, approaching with purpose, carrying two glasses of what appeared to be coffee. Her presence commanded attention, and Eddie could feel the curious gazes of his colleagues upon them.

"Ah, Ma'am! Good morning!" Eddie greeted, instinctively bowing respectfully. His mind raced to understand why Mrs. Lorraine had singled him out in such a public manner.

The woman's sharp eyes swept over the factory floor, taking note of the employees who had paused their work to acknowledge her presence. Her expression turned slightly cynical as she addressed the gathering.
